New Paradise Biryani — Restaurant in Melbourne

A very bad experience for me just few weeks back I ordered Hyderabad dum biryani & the box was written with black pen of the biryani name & it’s clearly understood that the biryani was not made freshly it was cooked 1 day before & kept inside the freezer & they reheated the box for 15-30 min in the microwave ( to act for long time as if the biryani is being cooked freshly ) but it was not cooked freshly I can say with the taste & freshness of the rice grain with chicken.

The biryani was so dry dry. It wasn’t reheated properly the rice in the middle of the box was cold & frozen. The chicken was hard & unfresh with sour taste that’s when I understood the food has not been freshly made.The biryani didn’t had any good masala / paste because all the rice grain had sucked it when the biryani box was re heated & it didn’t taste like good biryani itself comparing to the other biryani restaurants. Even the biryani cost is high here comparing to the other biryani restaurants so I felt my money was not the worth of pay because of unfresh food.

The ambience is very poor with dark aesthetic & they don’t have enough staff in the kitchen as well as the front end. just only 1/2 person were doing everything. The kitchen & dish washing area is not at all clean it’s messy & dirty. They don’t prepare the fresh food it’s all reheated food which they serve onto plates when they get order by reheating it for 30-35 min that’s it. This how they are making money by selling unfresh food. They will keep just 3-4 kinds of biryani prepared 1/2 day before into the freezer & when ever a customer wanted to order new type of biryani they just say sorry it’s already sold out but really it’s not at all sold out & they just want those pre cooked (unfresh) biryani boxes to be sold out so they just mention that other biryanis is not available.

Please don’t order anything from here it’s reheated food & not freshly cooked. I was really disappointed from their food. I literally wanted to taste their food & give review as I heard bad reviews from my friends who ordered it before so I wanted to try whether my frnz are saying it really or were they just joking.

That doesn’t mean I cannot offered food at your restaurant I can even daily dine in at 5 star restaurants & my parents can feed 100’s of people like you daily… my word says that even though you have set high food value but you aren’t giving the taste of food upto the customer exception unlike other Indian restaurants hahaha. Please drop down the 5 star restaurant names that you have worked in Australia & NZ. The kitchen standard set of your restaurant, the colour & tables of your restaurant defines how well you have worked in a 5 star restaurant as a chef hehehe. God bless with your low standard set up restaurant which is just running behind money making mind set instead of giving customer expectations. Please be careful before you loose your license of running a restaurant & loosing orders online.

You still have a chance to improve yourself rather than arguing. I still recommend to my friends & family in Melbourne only if you accept the truth & review of the customer to improve yourself.

Please step up to the standards of Australian hospitality and not to the standards of Indian hospitality. Your restaurant need to adopt the Australian hospitality much & hire more staff with experience & if not please provide them good training. I know running a business is not much easy but please improve it when ever a customer gives you a bad / good review instead of arguing with them.

The fact is that you aren’t accepting the truth behind the story instead you’re arguing with the customer.

I would still recommend this place to my frnz only after few months only if you improve yourself within next few months or else i wouldn’t recommend any because of your horrible argument, food & customer...

Edit: 25/05/24 Editing my old review because of many reasons. We decided to walk in to this place again after seeing a friend’s video on socials. The experience was so horrible that I do not know where to begin. Around 9:30pm ish we stepped into the venue, and were only greeted by the staff at 9:50 pm, you can already see where this is going wrong! We ordered just 1 starter and 2 biryanis, our starter came in at 10:15pm and we were served main course at 11:05PM 🫥. I have no words, my partner went into the kitchen at 10:50pm absolutely frustrated because of wait, and the food still came out 15 minutes later! Apparently the chef had already prepared the order but the staff “forgot” about it? At least that’s what we understood. We were the last people to leave the restaurant for the day!!!! The worst part is, there were 3 tables of Indians waiting for their food for about an hour and 1 party of 4 Caucasians came in 20 minutes after us, they ate, and walked out before we even received our food! 😂 what? This bias against your own? Whattt?

After the food arrived my partner was so disappointed with their “authentic” potlam biryani that he was ready to leave right there, also he’s lived his whole life in Andhra and Hyderabad so he knows what a potlam biryani should be, also see the photo they have advertised in their menu. The rice was completely overcooked, and the 10x10cm omelette was almost inedible. Meat pieces in the goat biryani were rubbery. The only decent thing was the Kaju chicken pakoda but for that amount of wait???? This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable! Also posting photos as proof of purchase as I saw many reviews where the owner denies the customer ever ate there. PS: only found out the said video was promotional when we called up our friend after the meal. 🙃

I have been regular customer from last two years. We are vegetarian and we always order either veg dum biryani or paneer 65 biryani. We had some complaints about these guys but they solved it with good service and their biryanis taste is really nice. We usually eat biryani here once in a month or sometimes even after 15 days we order biryani from them. But this time we ordered on our festival day and it was late night order before closing time around 10:00 pm. These guys really really disappointed us this time. I don’t know what was their problem they could easily said no if they didn’t had enough infringements. They just gave us PANEER PULAO instead of PANEER 65 biryani and that was mot enough they just gave simple rice in the name of VEGETABLE DUM BIRYANI. Also we have ordered paneer manchurian and we specifically said that we want it very mild bit that dish was extremely spicy we could not eat that. I tried to call them for complain but they didn’t receive may be it was closing time. I am very sad just because I couldn’t expect from this restaurant to give us service like this. They could easily say to no for order. Very very disappointed and will never gonna order something from this restaurant and will also say no to our family and friends.
