Nighthawks — Restaurant in Melbourne

A cool little rock bar on the outside of Johnston. Awesome little outdoor beer garden and cool mood lighting with a moderate but quality selection of tap beers and a decent selection of liquor. The band room is small and intimate and a good spot for up coming talent. However, of you're not in the gig, the music does tend to bleed into the bar downstairs and overpower the music playing in the bar, so maybe not the best sound proofing. But all-in-all...

I saw a friends band play upstairs. The room isn't large, but it looks cool, and the sound is pretty good. But... you have to pay in cash to see the bands....you cannot pay with your card to see the bands, but you can pay for drinks with your card ?! This is not good. Nighthawks needs to have their own ATM if they want to keep this...

Was really looking forward to checking out Nighthawks, the bar looks great and close to home so convenient. It was pretty empty when we arrived. Unfortunately the bartender was not friendly or hospitable, actually quite rude when we ask about the bar. Such a pity when cool concepts are tainted by bad staff members,...
