While the food (that arrived) was okay, the service in this place was absolutely atrocious! In an all you can eat we were waiting over an hour for a tiny plate of Sashimi when the rules are that you can't order more than one plate of the same food at a time. We waited over 45 minutes for for a small plate (only 4 pc) of Nigiri and other hot food items simply never turned up.
Granted it was obvious that sushi chef was new and that she was doing her best, however she was offered no support. After waiting an hour and finishing our sashimi plate in 30 seconds due to how tiny it was we would have loved to have some more as we would at other all you can eat Japanese establishments, but there was absolutely no way that we were prepared to wait another hour.
We first asked multiple times and different servers if there was a problem with our food and were told it was coming, this quickly turned to she's new. When we complained to management (which we nearly never do) we were given the excuse that the poor girl has no experience and it's her first time being a sushi chef.... It raises the question of again why she is not being trained or supported when clearly overwhelmed and under pressure.
The way management dealt with our complaint was very poor with nothing but excuses. We were not the only table complaining and actually saw another customer who was asking where her food was (very calmly) to go back to her seat while being pointed at... All the tables around us were having similar conversations about the length of time that things were taking.
Absolutely will not be returning. Waste of $95.

Read moreI don't feel comfortable in addressing the food as I know my household has mixed opinions on the taste and quality however the food I eat at Oshimas has always been enjoyed thoroughly which is ultimately what has kept us coming back.
It is extremely off putting that bills can't be split especially as we generally visit as a group of 12+ which cost $400-$500+ all up. The pricing for children (4 years old) appear slightly different online than the hard copy menu too.
It's also not ideal only allowing one person to order for the table. With a larger group you often don't hear what others are wanting from the other end then those people miss out. At least ask both table ends.
Often ordered food "doesn't register" and never arrives. We waited over an hour for Fried rice once because it didn't register 3 times and have also not received orders of the wagu steak and shashimi on a few separate occasions which is strange it's always the same thing...
The music is quite loud each time I've visited which also doesn't help when your trying to order for a large table and it would be idea if there was a second toilet.
Overall it is great value for money with a few flaws. It won't stop us visiting however we would visit a lot more if at least the split bill and whole table ordering changed.
I would really love to see this implemented especially as I see many responses that Oshimas takes on feedback and try's to meet it yet this feedback, although mentioned in other ratings, has not been changed.
Allow split bills and 2 or 3 to order per large booking please. This will better...
Read moreIt is very unfortunate that I am writing this review. As a local I was so sad to hear that my brother and his wife was not provided the service (or food) they have paid for. Listening to their experience makes me not want to eat here again. The night started badly when they were told there's a limit to the dishes they can order which would have not been a problem if their next order was taken timely instead they were ignored by the only order taker and would take 15 mins. As someone who has eaten here before we know that by the time the first dish arrives and eaten it will approx 10mins adding 15 mins for the next order to be taken and you're eating 2 dishes per 25 minutes. Then after being able to order 3 times within 60 mins, they were told their "time was up". What's the point of all you can eat when technically it's not and you are being kicked out before being satisfied with having a full meal. My brother and sister-in-law are not rich and they have hoped to treat themselves once to a nice meal instead they went home having to cook themselves food.
Feedback - maybe have more than 1 person taking the order. I have noticed when the place is full 1 person taking the order is not fulfilling the expected service.
Maybe depending on the dishes lift the limit as we know an entree can be eaten in 2 mins vs main which would be approx 8 mins.
Will be happy to make a trip to Main St. Okami if it means better service, timely order taking and...
