Pappa's Ocean Catch — Restaurant in Melbourne

0/5 literally no service. I'm very understanding at busy times of the year, I used to work in a fish and chip shop. They answered the phone, asked me to hold and put the phone down. It had been 55mins by the time I got to the empty store. I could hear when they were taking orders and most of the time they were not. I also yelled out and am absolutely certain they would have heard as I timed it for when I could hear someone was close. Also they would have known they should be getting calls - it's Good Friday. I would have accepted an "I'm sorry, I forgot." and ordered still. Instead, she lied and said they were taking orders non-stop the whole time. Who knows what else they lie about. Went around the corner and the food and service were excellent. Will not bother with this place again. Hopefully she's the owner, as she would have cost the store a lot of business having the phone out of acton on Good...

I love fish and chips but I have been struggling to find a good place around for years. I tried Pappa's Ocean Catch on Friday and hands down it's the best fish and chips I've had in a very very long time. The fish burger was huge and juicy, the potato cakes absolutely delicious and crispy, and the best thing was the scallops!!! Can't stop thinking about the battered scallops - the best I've ever had. I live all the way in Truganina, but no doubt I'm more than happy to drive all the way to Melton for their delicious food. Pappa's Ocean Catch is a winner and I'm glad I finally found THE fish and chips place I've been looking for. Staff are very friendly...

First time I’ve been here as my preferred Fish Shop was closed today, thought we will give these guys a try….and it’s just not right for me. The chips are yellow and don’t taste like normal potato, texture wasn’t right and bland. Hotdog in batter wasn’t firm, batter didn’t have that crunch and abit floppy. Potato cakes were meaty, so not thin, but the batter, again, just didn’t have that nice crunch to it, quite floppy. Seafood sticks, flake and scallops were ok. Corn jack too overcooked, couldn’t comfortably bite into it, was too hard! Paid $47.70 and just not worth what I paid for all this. Quite...
