A family member booked Prosciutto Brothers for Mother's Day lunch because it's meant to have the best pizza in Eltham. From the moment we drove into Peel Street, the vibe was negative. Peel Street is a 100% industrial area and a grotty at one that.

My family of five were shown to a table that would normally seat four so we were squashed in next to a wall right in front of a live entertainer. I'm not blaming the solo performer because he was good but it's seriously rude to have music pumping in your ear when eating and trying to engage in a conversation.

My wife and I each ordered a Homestyle Pizza from the menu which were delivered in good time but that's where any positives end.

Our pizza's were both brought out to us at the same time. Oil was dripping off one of them (which ended up being mine) and as the waitress placed my wife's pizza on the table the other one she was holding was slightly tilted and oil was dripping onto my wife's new top. I pointed it out to the waitress who looked 12 years old (but I'm sure she was older). She didn't care at all nor did she apologise.

I could only eat half of three slices of my pizza because it was disgusting. It was tasty but there was more oil and grease on it than a motor mechanic's workshop floor. The antipasto and salads we ordered were also not that great. One salad was untouched and most of our food remained on the plates.

The decor of the venue has a throwback rustic, retro style feel about it but the tables and seating were really poor and looked like something picked off a hard rubbish pile. The seats in particular were very uncomfortable and everyone in the restaurant was hopelessly squeezed in. There was such minimal space between tables that it was a safety hazard and would definitely bring the venue under the attention of authorities. There was no compliance with fire regulations.

Our Mother's Day lunch was ruined. The part that hurts the most is that I parted ways with my money for what was a very unenjoyable lunch. I was looking forward to a good dining experience but was extremely disappointed and we all couldn't get out of there quick enough. There was simply too little space, too much noise and next to no table service.

I will not return to this restaurant and therefore cannot recommend it based on today's experience but it will probably appeal to those who just don't care about what they eat or simply don't...

You never know where you’ll find a great place to eat and this one was nestled amongst industrial businesses. #prosciuttobros is a brick warehouse converted into a funky Craft Bar, which clearly has a local cult following. We’d made a booking for 6pm which was fortunate as by 6.30 it was really rocking. I was greeted at the bar by Chris and Oliver who kindly explained the 20 Craft Beers on tap plus the wines and cocktails available. The decor is my kinda style. None of the chairs match, the tabletops are different, plenty of photos and unusual artwork on the walls. This place oozes personality. Along with interesting lighting and a superb playlist pumping out songs that had me singing along, I’ve found a new place to hang out with my adult kids. I set up a tab at the bar and we ordered at our leisure. Our main meal was called “La Familigia” which you can see from the photos was amazing. A #chacuterieboard that fed six of us with food to spare. The menu itself is certainly designed for sharing which is ideal for families and friends. Very home style cooking. Very Italian. Made with love. The array of smoked and cured meats were amazing and the cheeses are not your regular cheddars. The wood fired pizzas were incredible. The platter included #arrachiniballs and #meatballs and plenty of bread to mop up the dips and sauces. We left before the live music started but the set up was simple and no doubt popular. There’s also trivia nights run regularly. You can dine indoors or outdoors with heaters set up around this time of year for those wanting to eat outside. Finally. A huge shout out to the staff. So friendly and they know their stuff and always happy to go that extra mile. Even brought a takeaway container for the leftovers for me. Much appreciated. $151.50 for 6 adults, 1 platter (which could’ve fed 8), 3 beers and 2 soft drinks. Good deal. Notes: parking is good. Can be a bit tight if sport is playing on the fields nearby. Kids welcome. Disabled friendly. Takeaway available. Dietaries catered for.

I don't like posting negative reviews but: (Edited to provide context)

we pre booked for 16 but there was only chairs for 13 we were told prior that we would have to squish and we were ok with that however there was no room to squish too as tables either side the chairs were back to back and at one end also had chairs in the aisle.

venue was over packed and no room to move & tables were back to back that to go to the bathroom your table and the table next to you had to stand up just so you could get out to go to the bathroom I had to ask 3 people to my left to stand up and 4 people from the table next to us to stand up just so I could get out, rather than disturb 7 people just to get back to my seat I stayed standing and didn't bother ordering more food.

I get you want to maximize your customers but we had people standing over us and line for the bar was back to the door.

our group that was on the end kept getting bumped and knocked by people trying to wait on line for drinks

because we couldn't move we weren't able to keep ordering food and drink. we'd planned to come and try the large platter ($110) but because we couldn't move we didn't bother. 16 people all turned up prepared to spend at least $100 each on food and drink. Typically when we go out for a our usual spend is $300-400 per couple. Instead we spent less than $50 and got maccas on the way home.

the smaller platter we did order was dry and no cutlery to cut the cheese / couldn't move to get our to ask staff and staff we're pushed to the limits

Ive heard so many good things about this place and was dying to try it but honestly it wasn't worth it. I booked this for my partners birthday and actually regretted it because we didn't enjoy our time, couldn't talk to anyone, order food or drink or move.

It's a bar yes but I would say definitely not suitable for children, families with older relatives or anyone actually wanting to talk to people on the other side...

Between the two of us we went a bit all out and went for the La Famiglia which they warned was for 3-5 people but we did a solid dent into this beast of a dish! For $111 you get really good value and variety of dishes. The pizza was delicious and you get to choose which one you want. The bread is sooooo fresh. Meatballs and arancini on point. The only downside was for a place called Prosciutto Bros we were really hoping there was going to be prosciutto on this dish but the ham, mortadella and salami were delicious. The owner was so lovely came up and spoke to us and then shouted us any cocktail on the menu! Staff were lovely and even let us take any leftovers with us. Definitely recommend!

I’ll give them credit, we did rock up by 8pm for dinner after some lovely drinks at Naught from across the road, but there’s really no excuse for how bad the food was. Pizza bases tasted as if they were frozen, aranchinni seemed to have no rice in them, and were some weird mush, meatballs tasted like old expired meat that just crumbled as soon as it was bitten into, and the cheese board was the oddest thing, consisting of a bed of lettuce, with cheap cheddar, odd tasting goats feta draped on top and stale crackers. The servers were very nice but, genuinely so confused how this place has good reviews for food? Did we just go at a bad time?
