I went into Roccoâs on Tuesday afternoon. I was instantly greeted by the owner asking if I was after a roll, I said yes. He then started to apologise and let me know they just sold their last roll to the customer before me! I said it was okay and then proceeded to tell him I lived an hour away and have been wanting one for ages and made the trip with the roll in mind. The owner then said âwait here Iâll check if the bakery up the road has any bread at all we can load upâ he runs out the door and up the street to the bakery. Moments later we walks back in with a massive smile on his face and a roll in hand and told me itâs my lucky day! The staff behind the counter all started to smile aswell and instantly started slicing up the freshest cheese and deli meats Iâve ever seen in my life!
The roll itself is one of the best things Iâve ever experienced taste wise in my life! The deli meats are so insanely fresh and sliced to perfection! The cheese was incredible, just the way all the flavours balance each other out is outstanding. Also the size of the meal will blow you away! I can eat alot and I was pretty full after finishing it. If you havenât made the trip up yet and youâve been contemplating it just go!! The hype is real and this place is so worth it!!
So thank you Roccoâs deli and staff! Not only did the roll take my breath away but just the experience itself was enough to make me drive all the way back there!!
Also the iced latte was perfect to, treat yourself to one of those...
Read moreI have severe food allergies and carry an epipen with me 24/7. They are textbook allergies which I rarely, if ever, have issues with when eating out. I went to the counter and told the worker taking orders about my allergies and asked if it would be possible to have only one person make my sandwich to avoid cross contamination. She immediately said no, and that there was too much risk of cross contamination even if only one person handles my food. She didnât seem confident so I told her not to worry about my order and that I would find something else to eat.
My partner ordered immediately after me, and the worker taking his order made rude comments about my allergies like saying âwow that must be hard to deal withâ insinuating his life is difficult because of my allergies!
I later saw through the deli window that they were using the same tongs for all of the fillings, picking up capsicum and smearing it on pesto covered bread (containing nuts) and then immediately putting the same tongs into the sundried tomatoes etc. This place canât guarantee there wonât be cross contamination on their sandwiches because they make no effort to avoid it.
Roccoâs deli, do better. Australia has some of the highest rates for food allergies and intolerances in the world this attitude just isnât...
Read moreWeâve found our new heaven! If only we didnât live on the other side of the continent! Roccoâs is amazing! The most delicious, filling deli/conti rolls that you can pack with as much (or as little) meats you wish. Everything freshly sliced. Love the nostalgic TAB sign up on the wall and love the caps, aprons and sweats you can buy with Roccos on them. Your choice of the hard and crunchy ciabatta roll (larger choice) or the softer bread roll. Hubby who LOVES this food and could eat it all day long, couldnât finish his ciabatta roll, which is a first. Master 15 on the other hand, AKA bottomless pit was finally (but temporarily) sated when he finished his ALL meats and barely any veg roll. The staff are amazing, funny, engaging, chatty, personable and genuine. You can feel they have fun at work and love making their yummy goodness as well as making people happy. The store is also fully stocked with many Mediterranean ingredients - pastas, almond cookies, Sirena tuna, fresh canollis (OMG!) We sat outside on the provided seating and enjoyed our food. Even chatted with some friendly likeminded locals who were hilarious and cheeky. Loved every bit of our Roccoâs experience. Master 15 wants to revisit before we go home in 2 days but itâs a long drive back down to...
