Rosanna Fish & Chippery — Restaurant in Melbourne

This is usually a great fish and chip shop, but I was really disappointed with my purchase today. I bought something advertised as a "Protein & calamari bowl". There was a photo out the front in the shop window. It looked really healthy, with grilled calamari and fresh vegies. I assumed that there'd be more protein underneath the vegies in the form of beans or something like that. My mobility isn't great, so I got my sister to go in & order for me. As it turned out, 2/3 to 3/4 of this supposed "protein" bowl was rice - lovely, nutritious brown rice, but protein it is not! I felt ripped off, not only because an $18 protein bowl should actually contain a decent amount of protein but because I felt that it was false advertising. I'm on a diet because I've been trying to lose weight for an upcoming surgery, and I don't like contributing to food waste either. Unfortunately, all that rice will be going in the compost bin. I would have been better off spending $10-12 on a piece of grilled fish or some grilled calamari on its own and keeping the rest of the money in my wallet. PS I rang the shop when I got home to explain my disappointment. Had a chat with the lovely cook working there. He suggested ringing back to speak to the manager after 5pm. I've just done that, and he explained that if I'd come in, the list of ingredients in each dish is clearly written under each item on the menu board. Fair enough, but I explained that if I'd seen that picture in the window and came in to order a Protein & Calamari Bowl without looking further at the menu, I'd be expecting a dish with a lot more protein. I'd have a totally different expectation if the item I'd ordered was called a Calanari & Rice Bowl. I was kindly offered a refund, but declined simply because I don't have time to go back to the store before my surgery in 2 days' time. I've also been very happy with the quality of the fish & chips there. The potato cakes are really fluffy & delicious! So, no complaints about the fish & chips...

Dropped in on a Friday night around 7pm with a friend and we placed our respective orders. After 30 minutes my fiends name was called even though l placed my order first, l noticed 2 people who had ordered after my friend then got there food. After a few minutes l approached the gent behind and counter and asked about my food. He looked at a bag that had been sitting there before my friend received his food. He went to hand it to me and l noticed 2 burgers were missing. He then turned to a bloke and asked about these burgers. We waited a good 5 minutes before we got the burgers which he placed in the bag but then failed to tell me, l had to ask again. Potato cakes, fish and dim sims were barely warm when we got home. Doubt l will return. Very unorganized, they didn't seem to know what was going on. About a 40 to 45...

After collecting an order that was incorrect for the 4th or 5th time (fried rubbery calamari, stale bun as usual on the burger, missing dim sims etc….) I called to have it rectified only to be hung up on, so I called back again & asked to simply get the order that I wanted but instead the man yelled “I know your address” which is actually a threat and I have contemplated calling the police but I think it’s more important that I leave a review. Also I was followed home by one of their employees! Yep.. so I diverted… do not go here!! Since when does a business owner threaten to come to your house over an incorrect order?? Not ok. Ps If u have a peanut allergy be extra careful as a friend had a reaction to the peanut dust…. that they sprinkle on the fish. Go to the chicken...
