Came yesterday for a 16th birthday lunch. An amazing meal! Huge serves! My husband had the scotch steak & it seriously melted in the mouth! Barely a chew was needed!! I had the garlic prawns. 8 HUGE prawns in a creamy, oniony, garlicy sauce with a huge serve of chips, rice & salad. The staff were all so very friendly & welcoming to the kids too! Nothing was too much for them & they listened to the kids when they asked for their orders. The activity book that comes with the kids meal is a great little book with crayons included. We will be back again for sure! Thank you for having us! Edit: 3/3/23 came in tonight, another beautiful meal! Miss 5yo ate ALL her fish & chips meal which is amazing! Kids meals are definitely great value! $14 including activity pack & ice cream. Hubby ordered beef short ribs from the special board & devoured it! I had the nasi Goreng which was delicious but it is spicy! Oysters Kilpatrick were lovely & a good size Cheese & garlic bread was perfectly toasted & cheesy but would have liked abit more garlic (we are garlic...
Read moreI had a deeply disappointing and upsetting experience at the Royal Hotel Koo Wee Rup. As my friends and I entered, a customer immediately made a racist comment toward us. We confronted her, and while she did acknowledge her comment was racist and apologized, we felt it was necessary to bring this to management’s attention.
When we spoke to the manager, we were met with a dismissive response “they’re regulars.” This left us with the impression that regulars are allowed to behave inappropriately and disrespectfully without consequence. Her friends excused her behavior, blaming it on intoxication, but that’s no excuse for racism.
If you are a person of color or value a respectful, inclusive environment, I strongly advise against visiting this venue. It was apparent that staff are not trained to properly handle incidents of racism, making it an unwelcoming place for people from diverse...
Read moreWhat a great treasure The Royal Hotel Bistro is for everyone. It was my first visit and it won't be my last. The Bistro has a calm peaceful atmosphere and despite there being over 80 people there, it did not feel crowded, nor was it too noisy. The menu had great choices. I ordered a seniors meal with sausages, bacon, potato & veggies. My friend ordered linguine carbonara. Both our meals were generous, delicious and came very quickly. We also ordered a cuppa after our meals: Cappuccino, Chai Latte, which we both enjoyed. Prices were very reasonable too. Staff were friendly and helpful. My friend and I hadn't caught up for quite some time and we were able to sit, chat and enjoy the venue. There was plenty of parking out the back of the Bistro and if that had been full there was street parking also. I look forward to going back again and am very happy to recommend...
