Thought we would give this restaurant another try now that it's under new management. We had a bad experience at this restaurant with the previous owners. Went to get dinner tonight for my kids. After ordering, we were told our takeaway came to a total of $53.00. I paid with cash (2 × $50 notes) and was told he didn't have enough change to give me. I told him I didn't have the $3.00 dollars in change in the car so I could not give him $53.00, I could only give him $100 (2 x 50 dollar notes). He took the $100 off me but only gave me $42 in change so therefore, he charged me an extra $5 all because he didn't have the correct change. Got home and the food was super oily. Kids did not enjoy their meals at all. Definately won't be back. Not only do the new owners rip their customers off, the food is also very oily and not enjoyable. We tried this restaurant because of the reviews. Take the glowing reviews for this restaurant with a grain of salt. Sadly, the main meal was consistently terrible. We ordered the Fish Masala, Bombay Potato, and parata. The fish did not taste authentic - the spices had not been cooked well, so we had a raw spice taste in the curry. Also, there was no quality or finesse in the flavour of the fish dish. You wouldn't order it again. The Bombay potato was appalling - the potato was gluey - the light base that it was cooked in was a dog's breakfast, which tasted like they had mixed in some of the sweet chutney that is served with the papadams before the main meal. The parata lacked flavour and texture. My wife is Indian, and we eat Indian regularly at home and out. The food we had at Tandoori Recipes was some of the worst we have ever tasted.
