If I had an option for zero star rating, I would have given that.
This place deletes the low rating reviews on Facebook without any response. It means they DO NOT really CARE about the CUSTOMERS
We booked the table for lunch at 11:30am today(sunday) We have been informed that there is 2hrs limit but it would be fine as long as we leave the table by 2pm. It took a while for us to decide our menu as there was a rule of the order "1 main and 1 entree" or "1 main and 1 dessert", also we didn't know that pizza is not counted as main but entree(it was not explained when we got a menu). If it is the rule of the restaurant we don't mind following, but i have never seen any restaurant, pizza is NOT a main.
After entree(two pizzas), we had our main at 1:30pm i believe. It was already the time of 2hrs limit that we were told. We were in super rush to finish our meal. Literally It was like drinking food rather than tasting. After main we were told about the time limits from the server when the dessert was not even served yet. And she didn't even realize that we didn't get the dessert that we ordered.
Dessert was served at 1:58pm. While we were still going with the dessert, we were told by server time is up and it was 2:08pm.
This is absolutely AWFUL experience to hear when we have mouthful of dessert, and let go from the restaurant.
I told the server it is unfair to kick us out within 10 minutes after the dessert serve. And she responded It took a while for us to finish entree, so the main serve was delayed. I just questioned myself and my other friend that what i just heard. Is she saying that it is our fault that we couldn't finish the meal within the time given ? If the main was served quick enough after entree, that would be understandable but it took so long to be served with main after entree.
I would like to question the server and the management team of shadowfax. Does the customer have to monitor the time every single bite we have ? Did we have a meal from the food court in the shopping centre ? If I was her, I would have offered to take away the dessert or refund of dessert as times up with proper apology. Then we would have understood. We appreciate the quality of food, atmosphere, but disappointing table service. This place is missing the huge part of the customer service. We spend $273 but recieved $10 services.
I would never recommend this place anyone from my experience. Lack of professionalism and...
Read moreOk, so the one star is for the waitress we had today, fantastic! the other goes to the venue, however the food doesn't deserve a rating as it was tasteless and over priced
However the rest of the experience has a lot to be said for and I hope this place takes a good long look at the way they run this business.
When you are taken to your table, you would think that you would be greeted with how are you today. Instead you are told you only have a certain amount of time to eat because the table is booked! Absolute worst first impression of this place. Of course the table is booked after our sitting , but you don't have to make it a statement. Piss Poor
Now i don't know about anyone else, but being charged $65.00 for a bottle of shadowfax wine at the table and then being told its about $40.00 or so if you want to buy at the cellar door is nothing but a cash grab. Their reasoning was corkage, now where in the hell do you have to pay for corkage for their in house wine!
The food is WAY over priced, its tasteless, boring, and honestly wouldn't recommend anything off the current menu, OK maybe the desert and cheese platter.... but that is it. The market steak was the most tasteless steak i have ever eaten, and everyone at the table was not impressed with their food, for the money they are charging. If you take your kids, please save your money and get them a main as they really have put no thought into these meals. If i wanted my child to eat an unseasoned piece of chicken i would have cooked it myself..... No hang on i would have seasoned it!!
Will never go back to this place to eat, i am trying to think if i have had a worst experience anywhere else before ending this review, but actually this place at the moment takes the prize for the the most over priced, tasteless lunch i have had. if you want to end on a happy note the...
Read more5…4…3… We went here for an outdoor dining experience which was great during the summer: a sunny weather and cold breeze. Adjacent to the al fresco is the vineyard and a very nice lawn/garden and canopy of trees where the kids and families can have candid moments together. The male staff serving us was kind and knowledgeable to suggest to us some good food combinations from the wine, entree, and mains. The food is good though can be improved if they do some quality check before they serve them, as our steaks came out more rare than the medium rare we expected. We had to ask them to cook it a bit more. Their wood pizza tasted good and can be improved as they are not very generous with the toppings. The price of food is a bit more expensive compared to other venues but I guess it’s the ambiance you are paying for. I would have rated this 4-5 stars, unfortunately we were asked to leave earlier than expected in a more straightforward way even if the words “we politely ask you to leave” were uttered, because someone will be having a garden wedding, even if the garden wedding will be at the far end of the adjacent lawn from the al fresco where we were seated. We did not argue, but we did not appreciate that gesture even If we were very understanding and meek types of people. It would have been great if they (the people who was about to have their wedding or the management) paid a portion of our meals. I suggest they should tell their guests in advance to avoid uncomfortable and embarrassing situations like that from both ends. Most guests (like us) are not always from Melbourne, I suppose. I still hope that courtesy is not very...
