A hidden gem brought to my attention by a friend, which would have been easily missed without her guidance. Nestled within a heritage building, it seamlessly blends the charm of vintage aesthetics. Witnessing the transformation from a stable in 1886 to the surrounding golf course and now this charming cafe adds to its historical allure. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is both vibrant and pleasing. Be warned, though – it can get quite crowded on weekends, highly recommend making a reservation in advance. This cafe has since become my go-to spot for brunch, and below are some standout items. Drinks: 1. Osmanthus Blend Coffee: This latte boasts a delicate osmanthus fragrance that beautifully complements the rich coffee flavor. 2. Lychee Iced Tea: use Earl Grey tea as the base, this drink is elevated with osmanthus honey, lychee juice, and a creamy foam. The nuanced layers of tea aroma and lychee sweetness make it a refreshing choice. Food: 1. Pad Thai: my favorite dish. The Pad Thai here is a delightful blend of unique Thai spices and flavors. It's light and refreshing, avoiding the typical oiliness associated with traditional Pad Thai. The chef's homemade sauce adds a perfect finishing touch. 2. Feed Bowl: Sushi rice paired with a poached egg, edamame, wakame, avocado, and wasabi citrus dressing, topped with fried shallots and nori. We opted for salmon, I was pleased with taste. The freshness of the ingredients reflects the careful selection. 3. Tacos (with Battered flathead):Crispy battered flathead accompanied by rich avocado and tangy pickled red cabbage. The batter on the flathead is nice and crispy, and I believe it would be even more enjoyable if the tacos had a crunchy shell rather than a soft one. P.S. My friend mentioned that the lavender outside is stunning during its bloom season. Looking forward to experiencing it in the next lavender season❤️

We came here with our dog for a Friday morning breakfast around 10am and there were plenty of tables available outside in the sun. The venue is pet friendly and there were dog bowls for water. Our waiter came out soon after we were seated and brought water and informed is that we could order inside. There was a reasonably variety of breakfast options and I opted for the basic fried eggs on sourdough toast with a side of bacon and my wife ordered French toast. Additionally I ordered a long black and my wife ordered a tumeric latte. Our drinks came out promptly. My coffee was fine however my wife's tumeric latte was quite watery and she debated whether to mention it but chose not to and wouldn't choose to order it again. My bacon and eggs were good (hard to mess up the basics which is why I choose it) but my wife's French toast wasn't flavoursome... She previously had the chili eggs which she enjoyed so thinks the savoury dishes are better than the sweet dishes based on her two visits. I'd be happy to come back again given its pet friendly.

Nestled amongst the newer part of Doncaster that was formerly an 18-hole golf course, this café is well positioned as it has no immediate competition. The menu has the standard fare with a few modern twists. The Seafood Ravioli literally came as five parcels, four prawns and decorated by various herbs. While the accompanying broth was flavourful, this isn't the dish to order if one is hungry. The Mushroom Rosti is similarly small but delicious with pickled chilli, herbs and a nutty, buttery taste that complemented the potato base. The door was left open most of the time, so a draught of cold air kept us perpetually chilled. Service was minimal as we ordered from the QR code. They asked if we wanted another coffee, so we ordered, but they clearly forgot and came back eventually to tell us the café will be shut in 20 minutes. Not quite the experience I've had elsewhere from Melbourne's competitive gastronomic scene.

Do not go here if you have dietary requirements!!!!!

This was our second time here. Extremely disappointing service. I ordered a vegan smashed avo. The staff member at the counter got the order wrong. When it came out, I asked for it to be corrected. That staff member then went to the kitchen and came back within 1min and asked me if it was ok if they just scraped off the egg. I said no, it also has feta in it and how do you know that I’m not allergic? I would I like a new one please.

We were waiting for 20mins and my friends were nearly done with their meals and my friend complained to this staff member about the disappointing service. It shouldn’t take 20mins to put some avo and tomato on toast. There was no apology.

I eat half of it and it tastes a bit strange so I stop. I’m not sure what feta tastes like, but the avocado didn’t taste like just avocado. I go up to pay and again explain the situation. The staff member at the counter (the one who took the order) tries to argue with us saying that we ordered vegetarian and not vegan. He shakes his head and laughs at us and goes to put the payment through. Maybe don’t work in customer service if you’re going to ignore what the customer says...?

Thankfully the manager came and sorted the situation out. I am glad that the manager was kind and understanding, because the two staff members were not. She kindly waived the fee and apologised. If the staff were all like this manager, maybe we’d consider going back.

I am concerned now that the food was not remade and that there was still feta in it as I am feeling unwell in the stomach. I really don’t want to be a “Karen” customer, but it’s really not safe food practice to be giving customers foods that...

PLEASANTLY SURPRISED AND IMPRESSED

Arranged to meet friends herd for a special brunch. Not familiar with the area...chose due to reviews and dog friendly. I rang prior to book a table (unsure how busy it gets). Whilst the person I spoke to on phone was polite...I wasn't that confident he'd actually 'booked' us a table.

Arrived at 10am Saturday 10th August as booked. There was a beautiful table reserved for us in the undercover heated dog friendly area...although the being such large outdoor area on such a beautiful day...anywhere would be ok (I did request the undercover area). The building itself is gorgeous...looks like an old stable...beautiful restored and immaculately spotless. I'm not sure if it's a family run business...but the Asian staff/family were super friendly and professional. We ordered from a gentleman (who I assume was the owner)...who was genuinely warm and friendly. Our servers were professional, friendly and efficient. The 'owner' even popped out twice (on a busy morning) to see how we were. Despite being busy...food delivery was quick. Even though we had variations of egg dishes...all were spot on (so many places still can't poach or scramble eggs properly). The servings were a good size...and despite the quality of the premises...and upmarket surrounding real estate...excellent value for money. Even more impressive is their dedication and love for pooches...with a well thought out and very reasonably price dog menu. Parking is a bit limited in the car park (due to high rise apartments)...but we had no issues finding on street parking less than 100 metres away. Oh...almost forgot...coffee was excellent...and I'm fussy about my coffee. Highly recommended...
