Looking for a good classic American hearty meal then you need to visit TGIFridays. The interior is really nice with neon lights and comfy booths. They have a bar located right in the middle of the restaurant. There is heaps of drinks to pick from including cocktails. I had their new margaritas which are $12 for non-members and $5 for members which is a great deal as you save $7 on each drink. I had the sunset and strawberry and coconut margarita that were so delicious and they had either salt or coconut rims. They have a big menu with so much to choose from starters to mains, as well as desserts. We ordered the Mac and cheese bites, mozzarella sticks and pork belly sliders. The mozzarella sticks are my favourite and a must order, so cheesy. The Mac and cheese bites are very indulgent. The pork sliders were nice however they were at room temperature so would’ve liked them warmer. As mains we had the full rack of pork ribs were with thick heaps and coleslaw and the classic beef burger with thin fries. The ribs are very tender and can be shared but my brother had it on his own! I had the burger which was juicy and tasty. I added the glaze sauce on the side to the burger for extra flavour. Also both chips were very tasty and loved dipping them into the glaze. If I wasn’t so full I would’ve loved to have ordered dessert which I’ll have to do next time! Definitely keen to revisit and try more menu dishes.

Unfortunately my review is similar to my last review of Eastlands store last month. I went in last night with a couple friends. I ordered nachos here on my first visit months ago as I'd had a good dish at eastland and fell in love, it was great, square rounded amazing tortilla chips (best I've ever had) with salsa, sour cream, avo and pulled beef which Doncaster put way more beef than Eastland so it was a good proper meal I was excited to order again here. Like my last visit to Eastland, noticed a big difference in the dish, all piled in one heap the tortilla chips were different, thick and not great, the toppings were prepared much chunkier, Eastland had a bunch of long big slices of capsicum and onion all over it making it difficult to dip and eat with the chips so at Doncaster last night I opted to not have onion or capsicum unticking the box. I ended up receiving a dish with no sauce and the amount of beef I got was deplorable, about 3 big chunks plus a chunk of fat, it wasn't all nicely pulled shredded like previous times, I had to get a knife and fork to cut up the meat so I could eat it with the chips as the big pieces made the dish difficult to consume. There was also this thick cheese sauce that seemed like it came out of a bottle. Was pretty sad , I thought it was just Eastlands store but seems like TGI Friday's has completely changed this dish and absolutely ruined it across the franchise, I won't be ordering this again. As suggested to Eastland maybe the tgi team can re assess the way this nacho dish eats because it used to be amazing and now it's just rubbish.

Updated 10/23: visited TGI now that it is well established in the upstairs Doncaster Dining area. Food quality has improved from last time, however we didn't find it was good value ($19.90 for 4 potato skins, wings about $2 per piece). The weekday specials seem to be a good deal though. Service is still a sore point as staff were very disinterested and dropped plates/food on our table without acknowledging us at all! Disappointing. Past 2021 review: Food was just average for the price and poor service really impacted the experience. We ordered the nachos, half rack pork ribs and 12 wings (buffalo and chipotle honey). Wings and ribs are good but I wouldn't order the nachos again (overpriced, sloppily assembled). The famous chips were very soggy and slaw was bland. Our food arrived lukewarm because it was sitting under the lamps (right next to our table) for a while. Had the same problem later when I ordered takeaway and it sat on the bench for 10 minutes before I walked over and asked if it was mine. The waitstaff were quite disinterested and won't help tables not in their section. We were told to order on the app which isn't possible with the voucher we had, so it took half an hour to order. We flagged down a waitress waiting at the lamps (no food ready) and she started taking our drinks order but wouldn't take our food order... She then rudely told the manager "go get [our waitress] and tell her to do her job". I hope that TGI will change this policy to ensure that the waiters support each other to ensure customers get a good experience.

I came here for lunch today as of writing this, and I ordered a Scotch Filet Steak and changed the Chips to Sweet Potato Chips and also ordered some sparkling water. I specifically asked for Medium Rare and instead got well done after eating into it. The table service person that served me, I left some remarks about it. Upon paying the bill, there were patrons in front of me arguing about the price discrepancy based on the meal they had ordered versus the menu price. When it came to me paying, a different restaurant service attendant, did not ask me anything about my meal. I paid $55.80. Initially, I was going to give one star for this review, but the sweet potato fries were tasty. I am not going to come back to this specific TGI Friday's location in future. Whomever the person was who cooked this expensive steak, needs to be trained in reading customer orders better and damn well cook to the required expectation as ordered instead of being rubbery and hard! Plain and simple, it cannot be this hard to follow! To make the situation worse, there was a patron next to me situated on small round tables with high chairs... was in fact coughing and who knows with bloody COVID these days, this person should not have been allowed to come into the venue and should have been ejected. Leaving me annoyed with the steak, trying to eat it as quickly as possible so that I could leave quicker without being exposed to an inconsiderate idiot of a patron coughing intermittently without covering their damn mouth!

My wife and I decided to give TGIF a go for lunch today. Arriving at 12:45pm we figured that the lunch rush would me mostly over, and indeed, most of the tables were available. It still took over 5 minutes for us to be seated by an aloof front-of-house person (name escapes me) that didn't seem to have a clear idea of which tables were ready for service. The wait staff was courteous and nice. We were seated and cutlery etc was provided. I got a dirty knife, which was replaced, but still... We placed our order using the app. My wife's meal arrived in a timely fashion, but mine lagged another 10 minutes. I would expect that when you're two people at a table ordering food at the same time that the food is served at the same time. My wife had some Signature Whiskey Glaze Chicken Strips. They looked as delicious as they tasted, however they came out lukewarm. My dish, the Pulled Beef Burrito, was served lukewarm with beef chunks (see photos) and dull, but warm, chips. The guacamole that I ordered extra was oxidised and very oily and it didn't look there there was anything but avocado and oil in it. A letdown for sure and we won't be back

Absolutely disgraceful customer service. We arrived at 515pm today with two kids, one in a pram. Our little boy walked past and was excited to try it out. More than half of the restaurant was empty. An unfriendly staff named Erwin came to us, no greeting, speaking with unpleasantness, first words out of his mouth were we've overstepped into the exit lane, when we were the only ones standing at the entrance. Then he said since we have no bookings we can only sit on the high chairs, when he clearly noticed our difficulty with the kids. We asked if he can switch one of the bookings to the high chair, his response was the bookings "typically" would want normal seating - clearly the bookings didn't specifically ask for the normal seating. We then asked if we can have one of the empty normal seats for 1 hour as we are typically a quick diner. He looked at the screen for 1 second and said all bookings arriving at 6pm. Shocking attitude and clearly didn't want us to be there! Our boy left with disappointment and felt intimidated by the unwelcoming gesture. Needless to say we walked past later and the restaurant is still empty!!!
