Subway — Restaurant in Melbourne

This is hands down the stingiest Subway I’ve ever been to. I’m a huge Subway fan, usually partaking in a sandwich at least a few times a week. Since moving to this area and this location becoming my local, I’m starting to dread my Subway cravings. Every single visit is left with sadness and disappointment and complete frustration.

They will not put any reasonable amount of toppings on here. You ask for spinach? You’re getting exactly two leaves. You ask for extra? One more leaf. You express that you’re ordering a veggie sub whose main filling is spinach and want a nice handful? You’re told absolutely not, choose something else (???). Even after offering to pay for a reasonable amount of veggies (which one shouldn’t have to do, and which I have never had to do at any other location) I was still told no I cannot have more than 3 individual spinach leaves on my sub. If you order delivery, expect it to be even worse (my delivery sandwiches are always just bread with a few scraps of lettuce and a single spinach leaf if I’m lucky). They’re big skimpers on the avocado as well, usually putting like a teaspoon per 6 inch. My old local defaulted to a big bread-covering scoop… so it’s a bit hard to reconcile the immense difference in quality and quantity.

I’m honestly shocked at just how bad the service is here every single time. Never in my life have I ever had any issues with any Subway I’ve ever been to, but this one is guaranteed problems every time.

With multiple visits and zero improvement, we’ve had to make the decision to go to a Subway a bit further away that actually makes proper sandwiches and doesn’t try to fight you when you ask...

Dont know what happened!? Used to be good quality subway. Now they have young staff who dont seem to care for the customers nor have a knowledge on how to make a sub. Staff were mumbling to each other and giggling while not focusing on the food they were making. As we left we could see a dirty table with a half eaten sub left so looked back at the staff and they were talking and playing on their phones. Even the cookies were overcooked. How do you overcook cookies when you follow the same instructions as evry other subway. Food was bad, staff were bad and the restaurant was discusting. Disgusting customer service! It seems like they hire random people off the street with zero training. Every month, there’s a new person behind the counter who has no idea what they’re doing. Orders are always messed up, they take forever to prepare simple sandwiches, and they have no basic customer service skills.

The owner seriously needs to step up and hire competent staff instead of constantly bringing in clueless employees. If you can’t train your staff properly, then don’t run a business! Avoid this location unless you want to deal with frustration and...
