G’S Kebab — Local services in Melbourne

This place is good, food is good, quick and easy delivery.. The reason of 3 stars for the service. The guy was unbelievably NASTY for no reason whatsoeve. In fact, he was acting as if he urgently needed to get admitted in a mental asylum, he needs to be checked by the Psychologists and get admitted and isolated in a room and immediately send him to the mental asylum. It is fine if someone can't communicate fluently, and weak in language but having attitude like, as if he's doing favour to the customers by taking the order and once prepared he screams the order number to pick up the food.

The guy has no manners, having no idea whatsoever of how to behave with the customers, weak in language to communicate doesn't matter at all, and nobody would complain about it since we're proudly in a multicultural country and mostly the people are friendly, understanding and cooperative. But, he doesn't have issues with the language. But the rudeness, very very very rude and nasty behaviour...? I noticed as it was clearly visible on the faces of the staff that even they were not comfortable and feeling good while he was talking and taking the order:

RUDE VERY VERY RUDE and NASTY: "No idea why was he acting as if he was doing me a favour". May be, he was recently hired and may not be happy with the job and salary he's getting. Or possibly, he has some animosity with the owner and trying to ruin the business... Don't know the reason but his attitude was very visible and suggesting he's going through with some serious mental health issues. Stupid: Doesn't have the sense to understand what customer asking for, I visited dozens of other places. Just before I got the same HSP or full chicken meat without french fries from the place called "Love Kebab" on the same Sydney Road and asked them for the same and the lady at the counter who took my order corrected me and said, this isn't HSP but it is called full plate of meat, and in reply I paid her my thanks and done, very smooth dealing, in fact my phone battery was dead so I went back and sit in my car charging my phone and there's a guy (seems her husband - the owner) instead of calling me he brought the order to my car and I was embarrassed and told him, he was not supposed to do it and his response was, it did not cost me anything and said, Im happy to see my customers are happy and appreciate the service. Dumbhead: Anywhere I go, I ask the Kebab restaurants to add any sauces but not the chilli one and they prepare and handover to me, but this guy is so dumb, and keep on asking me what sauces I want, and I repeatedly answered him the same, add any sauces what you normally does but no chilli..... And again and again he was keep repeating the same question and asking me what sauces I want...? I told him this is my first visit to your place and I have no idea whatsoever about what sauces you normally adds to the order. But, again he was repeated the question asking the same and acted as if he was giving at free of cost, even if it was free, he's not supposed to be rude and prove to the customers that he is a DUMBHEAD.

Otherwise, as I wrote above, the place is good, there's a parking option, food was not bad but the guy (seems, he's mentally retarded). Everyone in his shop understood what Im asking for except the rubbish, garbage, and a man with the trashy attitude. Because of his cheap attitude, Im giving 3 stars else it is not a bad place to pick...

I ordered a HSP from the store. I paid $18, and received only a smaller rectangular container, rather than the large square box you usually see. I expected then that it would be brimming. There was plenty of meat inside, however there was only a small amount of chips, barely a single layer on the bottom of the container. Considering how cheap the chips are compared to everything else, I thought maybe it was mis-prepared. I contacted the store, but the owner told me that his “customers” prefer it that way. Even though I am a customer. He also told me the meal was only worth $13, that he HAS to charge $18 on uber and it’s not his fault. I have knowledge of the industry, and know that this was a lie. I paid my fee’s to uber for their service, it’s not my job to pay $5 extra for a meal because of the store’s costs. He needs to be able to cost his meals in a way where both he is making a profit and providing a meal that is worth it’s value. But the expensive part of the meal, the meat, was plenty. Again, chips are really cheap, i know this from my experience. He could have filled the container full of chips for less than a $1. Him telling me his customers prefer it that way, when it’s completely not standard anywhere else to have so few chips in a HSP. To me, from experience, I reckon he was running low on chips from not ordering enough, and just made excuses on the phone for it. Me and my mates were all starving and tired after a concert, and G’s were still open until 1 AM. I’ve had plenty kebabs in Melbourne and Sydney, but nothing has ever woken me up from a zombie state like the food here.

The service was phenomenal, I requested something like a kebab platter with meat and salad on the side, I was expecting just a normal plain side of vegetables but they gave me olive oil and a spritz of lemon and it was actually TOSSED. AND THEY HAD RED ONIONS INSTEAD OF WHITE. Amazing. I don’t know if I was just desperately hungry but I was so happy.

Don’t get me started on the chips, they need to put a patent on that seasoning. It was like chicken salt, paprika and umami on steroids. I don’t even like chips that much and I was obsessed with it. Friends also commented that their lamb and mixed kebabs were amazing, and everyone was keen to come back.

Cant wait to come back to Melbourne just to eat here again, never underestimate small, hole in the wall restaurants. Truly the backbone of society.
