Tacos Tacos Tacos – Mornington’s Hidden Mexican Gem

Hands down, some of the best Mexican food I’ve had — and that’s saying something. We ordered take away for the family, but once we opened the boxes, we may as well have been transported to a street corner in Guadalajara.

The Quesabirria tacos were juicy, cheesy, and packed with flavour — a real showstopper. The Loaded Nachos with Shredded Beef? Next-level. Generous, perfectly seasoned, and no soggy chips in sight. The Gringa tacos with pork belly and crackling were a genius combo of rich and crispy, and the Elote nailed that smoky, creamy, chilli-kissed street corn vibe.

And while I was waiting, I enjoyed a margarita that hit all the right notes — tangy, cold, and strong enough to make the wait feel like a holiday.

Tacos Tacos Tacos is a hidden gem in Mornington. Small spot, big flavour, and well worth discovering. We'll definitely be back — or maybe next time, we’ll dine in and really lean into that Mexican escape.

Pete and Claire are amazing and so are their tacos! I ordered a heat and eat pack for my sister’s hens, and they were so accommodating with different fillings I wanted. They labelled everything that went with each taco filling, provided easy to follow instructions, as well as ensuring all ingredients were fresh despite my request for pick up to be earlier than their open hours. It is so clear to see they take care to provide fresh and delicious products, and they should absolutely take pride in this. Comments were made by every single guest on how tasty the tacos were and how quick it was to put together. I live on the other side of Melbourne but I will absolutely be back for more when I’m on the Peninsula!...

Not used to the common practice of venues in Australia temporarily closing during the day and (due to also being late) arrived ~15min before closing time. The proprietor kindly still took our order and allowed us to eat in. I would have sunk into the earth due to the embarrassment of causing such a hassle were it not for the amazing comforting taste of the food. Veggie Mexican food can be tricky to get right but this restaurant exceeded all expectations. There are plenty of classic meaty options also available.
