Tried this place for the first time this evening as we will be moving into a nearby house. Walking distance. Cosy atmosphere, soothing ambient music. Our waitress "Leah" was super friendly and makes a mean cocktail. She was very informative, explaining the 12 course menu on Wednesday evenings and how coffees and toasties will be a new addition weekday mornings. As we are going to be locals, we appreciated the information. We ordered some bread with olive oil and eggplant dip, broadbean, courgette and pea salad, heirloom tomatoes, rib eye and shoulder of lamb. 2 x glasses red, 1 beer and a goats cheese pistachio cheesecake with 1'coffee to follow. $156 for the lot. Another great addition to Mornington … with a great vibe wether your just popping in for a drink or looking for a some outstanding food you will not be disappointed.. we had the pizza entree and what a genius .. loved it … also had the octopus which I’ve had many times in the past and not enjoyed but the chefs have it tender and beautiful to eat . For mains we had the duck pasta ..(this is a must) the flavours were outstanding .. and the pork cutlet which wasn’t short on size plenty of it .. for dessert you cannot by pass this cheesecake all I’ll say is go and try it for yourself. Let me start with the food was beautifully presented and lovely BUT we were a table of 8 squashed against a huge table of atleast 16 ( no access between tables ) and we were against a wine rack so food and wine had to be passed down . Noise level was unacceptable because of table postion , plus when we arrived we had to ask for cutlery and water a couple of times . Our food whilst lovely all came out at different times so some of our table had finished before others received their meal . Clearing of tables started whist people were still eating , such a shame .
