Take Two is a small bagel shop on Lygon St offering up fresh, classic New York style bagels and Supreme coffee. They have 7 different bagels to choose from and 10 types of fillings. They don’t have a dining area so take away is the only option but I’ll happily eat these in my car any day. I visited over a year ago when their menu was slightly different, but I’m enjoying this menu a lot more and I feel like they have only improved since then, making them my favourite bagels in Melbourne. I tried their #6 - Chilli Eggs, Cheese Melt, Pickled Red Onion, Sage & Thyme Butter, Smokey Chipotle, Fried Shallots. It could not be faulted - every ingredient had a purpose, you could taste each one in every bite but at the same time, they all harmoniously combined to create a flavour bomb. I was worried the chilli eggs would be too spicy for me, but take it from someone who doesn’t tolerate chilli much at all – it was bearable and actually really delicious to have that extra bit of heat. The fillings were plentiful, the bagel wasn’t too dense and it was a great size for the price. I cannot wait to make my way through this incredible menu. There’s a lot of competition at the moment with lots of bagel shops opening up as of late, but Take Two Bagels is leading the race in my eyes.

Just spent $16 on a bad and over complicated bagel. It's been a couple of years since I've eaten a disastrous bagel (also from here) so thought I'd try my shot but this was so unappetising. I ordered the salmon bagel on everything and there was the thinnest layer of cream cheese with too many ingredients. A soft bagel that features huge chunks of raw fennel? Not appealing whatsoever. When I order a bagel I expect a lot of cream cheese balanced with some simple toppings and it just wasn't that. Also ordered a tub of takeway herb cream cheese which wasn’t edible. It was seasoned with the ol’ Malden about 4 times. If you want consistently good bagels every time I suggest going to Mile End Bagels or Bang on Bagels. Take Two is never not a let down. (Also! The owners of Take Two (And Stache Hair on Lygon St) literally used to bully and intimidate their hair apprentices which is gross (and illegal)).

đŸ„Ż #8 Bacon, Fried Egg, Cheddar, Dill Mayo, Tomato, Smokey BBQ, Rocket 🧀 #12 Halloumi, Tomato, Spanish Onion, Dill Mayo, Rocket, Tomato Relish, Lemon Oil 🍊Clarity Juice w Orange, Passionfruit, Carrot In the heart of Brunswick East on the famous Lygon St is Take Two, serving up freshly baked New York style bagels every morning and brewing @st_ali coffee. They provide a selection of 8 different bagel types and 13 delicious combinations, with a handful of gluten free and vegan options available. Both of our choices were winners, perfectly soft bread with flavours that compliment each other, not too filling and really have you craving more. I would say this is probably one of my favourites, I’m sure I will be making my way through this menu!

Very disappointed. Went to Take Two this morning (Sunday). Arrived at 8:50am after consulting google and their Instagram which said they opened at 8am. When I arrived the door was locked and closed sign up, a guy came out and told me they now open at 9am on Sundays. I patiently waited until they finally opened the doors at 9:10am. I then politely told the girl behind the counter that they should update google and Instagram to reflect the new opening hours and her response was ‘yeah our boss is pretty lazy’. Questionable statement aside I went to order my bagel only to be told the kitchen wouldn’t open until 9:30?! I was at a loss why the guy who told me they were now opening later on a Sunday left out that important piece of information. Needless to say I left and won’t be returning. Thank goodness Brunswick has a huge range of other wonderful cafes where you can get quick and delicious food (shout out to Juanita Peaches who instead provided my delicious breakfast this morning in a very...
