The marketing for this place and the potential for it to be really good is there... it's a good location because you can just park at Woolies and walk down.
We sat outside, the seating was incredibly uncomfortable to the point where it was clearly distracting us from our conversation because none of us could sit right.
Generally speaking I'm not one to say nothing at the time and then leave a review however on this occasion I didn't have the chance.
We ordered 3 things and I'd say all of them were well below my minimum standard, everything tasted bland and sad. I know that sounds harsh but that's the most accurate way to describe it. The vegetables tasted watered down and the pizza tasted doughy and rubbery.
We actually wanted dessert but there was no chance we were going to risk it. We actually did ask to move inside just in case the seating and atmosphere was better inside but were told it wasn't possible.
When we received the food it looked really nice but sadly didn't taste nice at all. Usually I'd add photos but I feel like that wouldn't accurately reflect the experience. But again, great job with the looks and presentation aspect
Important to mention that we ordered a share dish and there were some components that needed a share spoon which we had to ask for. We also had to ask for napkins because they weren't supplied adequately either which is unusual for a pizza place.
To be honest we just chose a place we thought would be a nice cute vibe to catch up but the lack of service and the low level of food quality made the whole experience sort of.... disappointing in a way. All of us travelled quite far to meet there from all over Victoria so at least having a comfortable place to sit would've been appreciated.
I'm definitely willing to give the place a second chance, if I didn't care I'd not bother to leave a review at all.
Hats off to the marketing team but please channel some of that energy into the dining...

REVIEW: ⤠My favourite at Takeaway Pizza were the Mushroom and Chorizo and Rockling! The mushroom was incredibly flavourful with such a good amount of toppings. The truffle made things so fragrant, especially with the lemon which cut through the heavy umami flavour a little. I love a little heat on my pizza, so the Chorizo and Rockling was for me! The pickled jalapenos added pops of brightness, with the fish not tasting fishy at all! šš¶ My friend's favourite was the pepperoni! If you like something more classic with meat, this might be the one for you. š„ All the pizzas sounds so appealing with ingredient pairings that make so much SENSE.
ā The thin pieces of pizza were delicious. It's packed full of toppings, but the crust was jaw-achingly tedious to work through. š¢
ā Each pizza has 6 slices, so would really recommend bringing a crowd of 6 in total to really maximise your pizza experience.
Booking through the website is highly recommended too, because there was a massive line out the door which we were luckily able to bypass with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTakeaway Pizza does solid pizzas with a creative twist ā definitely not your average topping combos. We tried the bone marrow pastrami, lamb, and prosciutto pizzas, and overall they were impressive.
The bone marrow and lamb ones were the standouts. The bone marrow pizza had massive cubes of meat on top ā rich, fatty, and full of flavour. Something Iāve never had on a pizza before. The lamb was shredded (thankfully not minced), tender and well-textured, and didnāt dry out at all. It was definitely oily and heavy, but packed with flavour. The pine nuts and overall balance of flavours in both were great.
The prosciutto one had a bit of a truffle taste, which Iām personally not big on, and it couldāve used more prosciutto or a bolder cure to shine.
We also got the chicken wings, which were too bready and crumbly ā not great, but fair enough for a pizza spot.
The crust and base were top-tier ā crispy, held their shape despite the rich toppings, and didnāt go soggy.
Service was also really good ā the waiter was friendly and gave great recommendations, which made the experience even better.
