Food is above average but service is well below average, I’ve been on three separate occasions now and the first time I noticed staff ignoring people they couldn’t be bothered serving (even when it wasn’t that busy yet, word of advice don’t ignore my family who were regulars at this restaurant & local..) second time I thought they’d picked up their game big time as both the time they took our order & then brought it over they were actually really lovely! Now today’s visit. Not so impressive. Now they were busy I will give them that, as I said the food is above average I do enjoy it I’m particularly fond of the rice paper rolls as an entree & the vegetarian egg noodle soup I ordered today-however I don’t believe I got egg noodles I believe they were rice noodles but I didn’t want to cause a fuss given how busy it was & I enjoyed it regardless so well done to the cooks. I have another Vietnamese restaurant 5 minutes walk away from me but I preferred this one because of the price & (usually) efficient service. We noticed the place was definitely buzzing. We saw what we thought was a free table-the very same we had just the other week now missing two seats yet a customer seemingly came out of the blue and said it was theirs (we had our doubts but I thought it best not to argue as I hadn’t had much sleep & had just gotten off work.) But that wasn’t even the biggest issue-this rude waitress rushed over and said they were there before us & said in a voice bubbling over with irritation “just wait!” As they say it’s not what you say it’s HOW you say it..bit less attitude wouldn’t of gone astray. It’s not like we’ve got access to surveillance cameras on who enters the restaurant first on our phones guys..When they did get a table for us the same rude waitress who seemed as if she’d rather be anywhere else but work carelessly somewhat threw the menus down and rushed off without another word. How accomodating. Guys I’m sorry but there’s no excuse for bad service...
Read morePho Hung in Preston is one of those places that feels like a warm hug from the moment you step in. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with the comforting scent of simmering broth filling the air. It’s the kind of spot where you can easily lose track of time over a bowl of delicious pho.
I decided to go for the beef pho, and wow, it exceeded my expectations. The broth was rich and flavorful, clearly made with care—definitely not the instant stuff you find at some places. The noodles were just right, and the beef was tender and generously portioned. Every bite was a little piece of heaven.
I also couldn’t resist trying the grilled pork banh mi, and it did not disappoint. The pork was perfectly marinated, and the baguette had that nice crunch. Throw in some fresh herbs and veggies, and it was a delightful mix of flavors and textures.
The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The staff really seemed to care about making sure everyone enjoyed their meal. And with prices that are easy on the wallet, you really can’t go wrong.
If you’re in Preston and looking for some delicious Vietnamese food, Pho Hung is definitely worth a visit. It’s cozy, affordable, and the food is just fantastic. I can’t...
Read moreThe food here is amazing.. even if you do get thirsty AF afterwards! It's great value for $ and serving sizes! The staff rarely smile, theres no customer service here, if you bother them for tea or anything it's like an internal eyeroll on their face (now they have signs up about self service for bowls and tea etc) When staff take orders, they're also unimpressed so if you're looking for a friendly place, don't take it to heart, but they make up for it with their super delicious food! Seating is very cramped and if you're unlucky to go there when it's really busy, expect to wait and be seated wherever they feel like it, even if there's a table free by itself, you may get put in the middle aisle joined to another table which makes socialising with your +1 impossible unless you shout! It's also hard to order a lot of food since they bring your entrees and mains out at the same time, even after saying you'd like entrees first (on countless occasions) If you can get past all that and don't even mind having strangers shoved onto your table to share elbow space with, you'll be impressed with the flavours and selection of food!
Recommendation is The Satay Skewers in entree, you can't beat...
