Tamarind Thai Cusine — Restaurant in Melbourne

I wouldn't call this thai food, more a generic Asian. I would have loved to have found a local thai restaurant I enjoyed but Tamarind was not it at all. Our phone order was written down on a scrap of paper that never got cooked, I arrived and after 5 minutes of searching for our order I was asked if I had the right restaurant..The scrap of paper with our order on it was found under the front counter, hence why it never got cooked. The Pad Thai was dry in texture, and my Grapao, was meant to have Basil but none to be seen. Dissapointing service and not even one word of apology for messing up and not cooking our food.

Had high hopes for local Thai - unfortunately both the food and their card surcharge left a bad taste. We ordered Pad Grapho and Pad See Ew - both were below average, and fairly bland. Noodles were over cooked and gluggy. Grapho lacked flavour, and the beef was tough (like cheap cut tough, not necessarily over cooked).

To make everything worse, they try to slap a 10% card surcharge on you if you don't want to bring cash. I fully understand passing on the actual cost of card payments, but this is just trying to exploit your...

We had dinner here before a concert. It was Friday night, raining and really busy. We waited ages to be served and when the food started coming out - it was in a random order, mains before entree etc, strangely with drinks being delivered last?.. My drink order (white wine) was off which was really noticeable due to colour. I had to return it.
