The food was fabulous. Seriously, fabulous. Having a big group, we had the set menu for dinner. The entrees kept on coming. There was way more than enough and, so scrumptious. It was great there was more than enough, because then some of us ;) could have extra. The entrees were all fabulous - I mean in the "I cannot believe that these entrees are ALL so good" - fabulous.. The mains - others in the group said their lamb and barramundi were great. I ordered the wagu steak, The presentation of the steak was pretty ordinary and offering chips with it was disappointing. It just didn't seem right - seemed to cheapen the dish somewhat. BUT the taste. OMG! I ordered medium rare and it was simply the best steak ever. :) Re desserts - I had pineapple which was lovely - my husband gave the summer berries an 8/10 - "A little bit short on the berries, a little too much cream but tasty. I'd go back there for sure!" However the chocolate dessert was the winner of the night. Be aware that the chocolate brownie isn't just a normal chocolate brownie. It is a superb brownie with some sort of delicious looking mousse with it. Order it! Presentation is superb and the people in our group who ordered this dessert did not look up once it arrived. They stopped talking and focused solely on this delicious looking dessert. They just ate and scraped the sides until their dessert was finished! It looked so yummy ! :) I am definitely going back! The waiting staff were great with a good sense of humour. The maitre de was great. This place was fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! I cannot wait already to return (And no, I am not being paid to write this and I do not work with any of these people or have shares in the restaurant) Hopefully all of you who read this will not book to go to this restaurant when I want to - Oh yeah and the view and atmosphere is fabulous too :) It is a bit hard to find though:) It is to the right of the carpark at the top of the kiosk. Sounds...
Read moreI asked why the price on receipt was different than board displayed. "Yes we have put our prices up" Yes but we are entitled to pay as displayed "No that is our new price" Well it can't be different to sign "Yes we booked someone to change the sign next week"
The fish was excellent, the Greek salad mushy liquid like fetta was putrid Coleslaw will words cannot describe
Well advice is clear if ordering here Check your receipt and probably steer clear from foods not in the shop title Fish and Chips
Edit: Sunday surcharge clearly and professionally itemized individually and we thank you
"Greek salads are made at 10.30 am and 3.30 pm each day" We ordered ~ 6pm so sounds realistic cause of the lack lustre presentation Advice: probably avoid fresh foods later in the day
The coleslaw is clearly marked $4 on main prominent signage, But $5 on printed receipt a 25% increase and it was only half filled. (this is before the Sunday surcharge)
The response of staff to being informed of this variance is as was above.
It should have been https://www.accc.gov.au/business/pricing/price-displays#toc-when-the-price-at-checkout-does-not-match-the-displayed-price
""When the price at checkout does not match the displayed price Sometimes the price of an item in store or online at the checkout may not match the displayed or advertised price in store or online. If this happens, even by mistake, the business must either:
*sell the product for the lowest price - either the checkout price, or displayed or advertised price, or *stop selling the item until the incorrect price is...
Read moreSadly a very disappointing lunch. Extremely over priced for what you get - two of us had the $49.50 steak, which was average at best, definitely not worth that price tag. The market fish thought was good. Sadly the fish and chips was a joke - two of the smallest pieces of fish with an enormous chunk of lettuce (it took up half the plate !) and a tiny bowl of chips. All four of us looked at each other and laughed. The most ridiculously over priced meal/portion size I can ever recall. The $10 sourdough cob did not taste fresh - extremely hard, crumbled in our hands. Butter (almost frozen) was lovely.
Desserts were much better - we all enjoyed the cheesecake, panna cotto and Affagato.
Cocktails are $23 - about $5-$8 more than most restaurants and bars.
The Greenock Shiraz was excellent.
Service was ok, waitress seemed rushed/stressed but was pleasant.
A mention also for the table size - way way too small for four people. They had to bring out a second table for us to put our water and wine bottle. Too many tables squeezed in to the space.
We last dined here about 8-10 years ago and loved it. Sadly it is insanely over priced for what you get - quality, portion size and service. At over $400 for lunch for four people we all expected a lot more. Whilst the view is lovely, we came for the food - sadly we...
