The staff here are so amazingly helpful, kind and friendly & the food and beer were magnificent in an atmosphere that was nice and chill. So, let’s break it down…
Atmosphere: ** Definitely your popular local watering hole, has a nice comfortable feel with a good selection of tables (both inside and out) to suit almost any party. Well suited for a “getting to know you” date or a after work dinner and drinks chill session. The bar area is quite small at the front, however there is another larger section at the back that is used for functions. While it does have a great edgy feel about it, the bar area is very low light and the interior looks like it needs some minor updating. All in all though, its clean, maintained and well presented. Well Done.
Customer Service: * It’s like anyone who steps into this place is local – Big smiles, welcoming people and everyone was friendly and happy to have a quick chat about your day. Definitely, not your run of the order customer service, Superb! With there wide array of beers to try, the bar tenders will help understand your tastes and guide you to a beer experience like no other. The two IPA’s they recommended, were absolutely delicious. Ordering your food is at the bar by table number, and our mains were delivered hot and ready within about 12 minutes – Not only this, the plates were bussed within a few minutes of finishing. Outstanding. Cannot over-sell this customer service enough – it was awesome!
Food (Why we are here): * Order: Chicken Parma with Chips and Salad Beer – Seriously, the vast selection of beers here are exceptional and for any Beer enthusiast – add this one to your list. Chicken Parma – While it is low light, I have to commend this dish. The crumbed chicken fillet was massive, Napoli sauce was spot on, as well as the cheese and ham. I especially appreciated the garnish, as not a lot of places do it anymore. Additionally, the chip was excellently cooked and the garden salad had this really nice vinegarette that was a nice blend.
Overall:* It’s always refreshing to be greeted so welcoming by the service representatives that, in this instance, they have raised the customer service bar for me. While the place has an older feel to it – it’s not without its local charm and the food and beers were magnificent. I will definitely return and highly recommend to all. Thank you, The...
Read moreAh, The Cherry Tree. Nestled deep in the heart of Silicon Cremorne Valley (you know, where startups are born, VC dreams go to die, and everyone owns at least one branded hoodie), this place is an absolute staple for post-pitch pints and semi-ironic celebrations.
Inside, it’s part grungy pub, part arcade fever dream. They’ve got pinball machines, and not the crusty kind either—like actual playable, flashy, satisfying pinball that makes you feel like a caffeinated wizard with every multi-ball. Honestly, I’d come here just to watch my friend play those. Personally pinball means nothing to me.
The beer selection is seriously impressive—like, “someone with a clipboard and a beer diploma picked these.” But full disclosure: I don’t even like beer. Give me your fruity, weird, possibly fermented beverages any day. Which is why I was overjoyed to find Matso's on tap—liquid tropical paradise in a glass. Bless you, mysterious keg gods.
Food’s decent, crowd’s chill, and the vibes? Equal parts after-work debrief and nerdy hang. Loses a star only because I once sat next to someone loudly explaining NFTs like they invented them.
Still: cherry on top of...
Read moreIt's really 4.5 stars. Great venue tucked away in the backstreets of Cremorne, so you'll be well enough away from the drunken riff raff around Swan Street. It's a more mature crowd here, generally - locals, professionals who work nearby etc. But it's not snobby or corporate. A good vibe, friendly, relaxed. You know the person who owns/runs it cares about the industry and their food and beers. The service is really good (because they care). Fantastic selection of regularly rotating craft beers taps (independent, proper craft) with loads of styles, a really good selection of quality food (I must admit I have only tried the pizza and some small shares so far!). They have regular meal specials on as well, so check their website. There's a nice little front section with outdoor seating, a large restaurant area out the back, and the main bar is cosy and well light with a nice vibe...as well as a pool table! As a long time local hospitality worker and one who spends just a little too much time in pubs, I definitely...
