The Cripps Family Fish and Chips Trailer — Restaurant in Melbourne

I came here with a friend over the weekend to watch the beautiful sunset whilst having some potato cakes and chips. After about 20 minutes of placing our order, we had asked the staff for an update, and were told “it’s on the way”. Having waited an additional 15 minutes we enquired again, to be told the same thing, though this time we saw them starting to make the order. It took a total of 50 minutes for us to receive a handful of chips, 2 potato cakes, and 2 dim sums, which seems unacceptable.

After receiving the order I did approach them about the wait time, to which they unapologetically said “well you’re lucky, other people waited longer”. Funnily enough we saw every single order being placed and several people that had placed their order after us had received it before us.

If anything, an apology was all I was looking for, but was met with a snarky, condescending comment fired back at me.

The food was nothing special either, only slightly better than their customer service, which already wasn’t hard to beat.

Other reviews were right about the wait time and poor service.

Waited painfully 50mins for our order because "your order is bigger than others, so we make theirs first."

What, so if I had the biggest order, I'd have to wait indefinitely?

And that response is ONLY AFTER I confronted them after 40mins wait. Who knows how much longer I'd have to wait if I didn't ask.

No reasons given before, no apologies after.

Even dropped one of our calamari when they handed us the food, saw it, and looked away. My partner asked for a replacement one, and was given a half cooked calamari, which we couldn't eat.

$45 is definitely overpriced for the amount and quality.

Also saw others getting charged $3 to use their tomato sauce. Not the packets,

If it wasn't for the location, I highly doubt they can have any businesses.

If you want to have fish and chips by Frankton beach, I highly recommend you get it elsewhere and bring...

Food poisoning - Overpriced - Tiny Portions - Poor customer service

The first experience I had here was fantastic. Keen to revisit with my family for the second time we all had food poisoning from this visit.

Feeling willing to give you guys the benefit of the doubt I visited today with a friend and paid $17 for this meal, apparently this is what a grilled flake looks like.. this barely looks like half a fillet.

My friend ordered a salmon fillet that she paid $11 for and it wasn’t cooked through so I took it back and they offered to cook it more. We declined and got a refund. We narrowly avoided her child being hospitalised as she has food poisoning from the small piece of salmon she ate.

Also we watched the 4 people that ordered after us get their meals before us. So for the second time this establishment has given me food poisoning and it’s been reported to council. I won’t be returning,...
