Such good reviews but we were disappointed. Our first visit, I called before going and asked about the AYCE Hoppers on this Sunday night. Was told that they came with veg or non veg curry. I clearly asked if curry was included with the hoppers and was told it was. There was only one table occupied when we reached and they were almost finishing. We ordered 2 of the AYCE and looking at the menu on the table realised that the curries seemed to come at an additional charge. On asking the staff member who was the same who I spoke to on the phone she said she was new and made a mistake by telling us that curries were included in the deal. Anyhow we got 2 curries. The Chicken and the Dhaal. Chicken was ok, but the dhaal was tasteless and seemed like it had been diluted just prior to bringing it out. Curries come out and we wait for hoppers.....given that we are now the only people in the restaurant and it is supposed to be a special hoppers night the wait was ridiculous. The hoppers were very crisp and most of them just crumbled and were not that enjoyable. Staff was non existent. No one came to ask if we wanted more...I had to go up to the kitchen to request more hoppers. Again had to wait for almost 15 minutes. Curries are cold by now. Place did not give a clean feeling. One plate came so wet and not clean. Water glasses and some cutlery were not clean too. Overall very disappointing experience. Given it is a special Hoppers night at least have the hoppers coming out consistently with less wait times. If it was busy I could still understand but with only us and then one more couple coming in after us this wait time was not excusable. The new young female staff was however quite pleasant. Sorry to say but a very underwhelming...
Read moreDropped by this spot for lunch with my family, and when we arrived, there was only one other table occupied, so it was a pretty quiet time. We tried the hoppers, which were the main reason we came.
Positives: Great Value for Money: This was definitely a highlight. For the portion size and what we received, the pricing was more than fair — I’d easily give this 5 stars for value alone.
Friendly Service: The lady who served us was absolutely lovely — warm, polite, and attentive. She mentioned she was new, which would probably explain the service
Negatives: This was the biggest let down. The hoppers came out cold — and not just the first batch. We received about 10 hoppers in total, delivered in two rounds. Unfortunately, both sets were cold upon arrival.
It wasn’t just the hoppers. The accompanying curries were also cold, which really affected the overall experience. When food arrives cold during a quiet service period, it’s hard to understand why.
Disjointed Service: The dishes came out in a very staggered manner — a few items here, a few more much later. It felt uncoordinated, and by the time everything was on the table, nothing was at an ideal temperature to enjoy.
Spice Level: It’s clear the spice levels have been toned down to suit the Aussie palate.
Overall: While the value and service were commendable, the cold food and inconsistent serving times really took away from the experience. There’s definitely potential here, especially with such kind staff and good prices — but attention needs to be given to kitchen timing and food temperature to make the most of it.
Normally I would probably give this place 2 to 3 stars but my mum and cousin really enjoyed the food even though it was cold...

We were really looking forward to dining at The Fab Curry and Hoppers, especially to try the hoppers buffet. We initially tried to make a reservation for 6:30 PM, but were told to come at 7:00 PM instead. We accepted that without any issue and arrived around 7:05 PM after a one-hour drive from Werribee.
To our surprise, the staff seemed completely unaware of our booking, and there was no table available. We had to stand and wait for around 15 minutes before we were finally seated, and food wasn’t served until around 7:35 PM.
It was clear the staff had no idea what was going on – confused, disorganised, and poorly coordinated. I had to remind them about the drinks I ordered with the food, as they simply forgot to bring them. For a place promoting a buffet experience, I expected a much smoother and more welcoming service.
The food was average, but the service was absolutely awful. As a Sri Lankan, I take no pleasure in leaving a review like this for another Sri Lankan business, but unfortunately, my experience left me no choice.
If the service and management don’t improve significantly, I don’t see how this place will last. Staff either need proper training or there needs to be a clear change in leadership. It was our first and definitely...
