Pleasantly surprised by this Vietnamese store at The Pines. I don’t normally hold much hope for shopping centre food outlets but it had decent reviews and I was craving rice paper rolls without driving miles. Had two different rice paper rolls and the hoi sin sauce hit the spot. The rolls weren’t too tightly rolled but the fillings were nice. Would smash again.

Came here because of good rating. Had their com tam and it was nothing amazing. Pork chop was a bit stingy too with portion. However I appreciate that they followed my request to cook everything including the tomatoes and cucumber. Taste wise was nothing special, and chili oil tasted stale. There are lots of seats outside too.

For a Vietnamese restaurant in a local shopping centre, Three Red Stripes was pretty impressive.

I came by on Saturday 22/2/2020 at 10am for a late breakfast. There were no customers so this made me slightly apprehensive. I had the com tam, my partner had the beef special pho and we had a serve of prawn spring rolls to share.

The com tam was quite delicious (although nothing can beat the one from Thy Thy in Richmond which has sadly closed down). The pork chop was under seasoned but the broken rice was nicely prepared. My partner's pho was huge! The soup was very tasty and there was a generous amount of noodles.

I liked the clean tasting prawn spring rolls. They were a bit stingy with the sauce though. Fortunately they gave heaps of lettuce and mint - definitely a plus.

I agree with their tag line...Three Red Stripes is...

I’ve been excitedly waiting patiently, after seeing the sign in the window, to sample their Banh Mi. Well, today was the day and WOW it definitely did not disappoint. In fact, I’m writing this review while I’m still eating it! It’s been impossible to find Banh Mi in the Manningham area up until now. The bread roll is warm and crispy exactly as it should be, the filling is super generous and the flavour authentic. It’s even made with pate which you don’t see often here. I’m literally going to be their best customer from now on! Not only is this place Pho Good, it’s also...

Not the most amazing pho, but the portion of noodles and soup was generous, with a few slices of lean beef. The spring rolls were standard—crispy skin, freshly made to order, but nothing out of the ordinary.

There’s plenty of seating inside, or you can choose to sit at the food court outside—they’ll bring the food to you.

Overall, it’s not a bad Vietnamese outlet, especially if you don’t feel like driving all the way to Springvale. Prices are cheap considering the portion sizes. If convenience matters more than authenticity, this is a...
