After a long drive, arriving in the beachside area of Sommerville, I found a cute little cafe nestled away in a quiet street. A clean and tidy setup, with a few small tables outside and covid spaced, wooden tables inside. Staff are friendly, and their happy demeanour are infectious when on your way to work! They opened in November last year and seemed a local favourite, with many tables populated when I arrived. They have developed their branded coffee flavours and sell them at reasonable prices compared to other places.
With a small, demanding working kitchen/chef out the back, so the food is fresh. They serve breakfast, lunch, snacks, smoothies to go and takeaway/home delivery. They also have a 'Lil People's Menu' - a nice touch and makes them feel extra special and grown-up.
Recommendations: Long black coffee - which blend will you get? Mine was from the Uganda blend with the groovy hippy writing on the front. Almost a fruity flavour, but lovely and strong.
Vegetable Frittata - made fresh daily, this was one of the best vegetarian frittatas I have eaten in a while. Every bite was a different flavour and generously filled with a range of vegetables.
Highly recommend this place if on the road and need to stop for breakfast/brunch/lunch or grab a take away coffee on your way to work. This cafe is the sister to 'The Corner Pantry', in Mt Eliza. Thank you for the excellent service and delicious food/coffee - set me up...
Read moreExtremely slow table service. This can be understandable in trying times but communication with customers about waits should be a priority in this case. Menu was limited (not even a standard âbig breakfast optionâ) and so contrived members of our party struggled with finding something to eat. One landed in the fig toast but the serve was laughable, fig crackers more like. We discovered croissants and items in the cabinet/after/ our meal, it would have benefited to have other options alluded to somewhere on the menu, as our seating left us without a view of the cabinet. My meal was missing a main element and the spinach ordered as an extra had a strange, bitter taste. Coffee sizes are generous is the main positive, but again, slow to arrive. Need to work on that communication, we were lucky we had nowhere else we needed to be on our...
Read moreThis is a regular cafe for my partner and I to visit because we love the vibe, atmosphere, menu and coffee. The coffee is unique but familiar and the menu is simple but extremely effective and great tasting across the variety of different items my partner and I have tried so far. Particular highlights are the Two To Tango burger and the Bacon Me Smashed as well as the Waffles. Service is also friendly with a smile. $10 burgers on Tuesday as well is an incredible deal. Would highly recommend above anywhere else...
