Update: New review for Sat 2nd Aug 2025 My son, my DIL and myself visited Vanilla again for a lunch catchup. Again it was very busy so I'm glad I booked. A bit loud but happy vibe. I had grilled chic tenders with avo & salad, I've had this before because it is light, delicious and very fresh. My son had a Vanilla burger with chips, which he enjoyed immensely and my DIL had a chic schnitzel with salad & chips which she also loved (new meal pix added to originals). We were pleasantly surprised to see some vibrant energetic Greek dancers out the front of the restaurant. We finished our lovely lunch with Vanilla's famously decadent choc/white choc mousse each, yummo! Another happy, fab and delish Vanilla dining experience for us all. πŸ˜‹πŸ‘πŸ’– First review: I took my son there for his birthday on Sunday 25 May 2025. It was far busier than I'd expected on a Sunday night, so I was glad I'd booked. The food was really excellent. I had garlic prawn linguine with olive oil base. Absolutely delish and quite filling. My son had lamb ragu penne which he said was superb. We both had choc & white choc mousse for dessert which was just the best mousse i'd had in ages, sensational. Because it was so busy it was a bit loud which did spoil the atmosphere a little. Still, it was a very enjoyable dinner for us both, and the service was very friendly and prompt. I highly recommend dining there to...

To the owners and manager: One bad staff can seriously hurt your business no matter how hard you work and of course one good staff can save it. Please read this. I have to give one star although it was one of our favourite places for years, specifically for dessert but unfortunately today we had a really bad incident there and we may never go back again. One of the cakes wasn't in the online menu so my wife had to go to cashier to show the cake and order it for our table. All of sudden I saw a staff (a senior lady) shouting at my wife telling her that go back to your table read the menu carefully and find it and order it there. I had a chat with one of the staff and she looked and confirmed that the item wasn't in the online menu and she opologised and also assured me that she will report her bad and unprofessional attitude to the manager (Harry I think). My wife asked me to not tell her anything because probably she had a tough day or something like that. My message to the management and business owners is that for such a successful business like yours you should be super careful about customer relationship and have enough training for your staff. If poor attitudes like this happen for few other people, you could easily lose customers over time. I am not going to put the senior lady's (staff) name here but I really hope that the owners and manager will have a serious...

Went to Vanilla Lounge for a sit down coffee and food. First went to the counter to order some desserts to take home later. We were told at least 3 times by the staff that we CANNOT eat these at the table, when asked why she said it's because they charge the tables more money, that's weird and really cheap... charging tables more for the same items seriously? After sitting down we were ushered and served by the rudest staff member. Middle aged woman with glasses with a sour attitude over nothing. After waiting 10 minutes, our coffees came out by a different staff member who was confused as the rude staff member must have put the wrong table number for our order, we had to call them over to deliver it to our table. I should mention the other waiting staff were lovely. After a horribly crafted coffee and horrible service we cancelled the rest of our large order and walked out. I've had better looking instant coffee let alone paying these prices (see my pictures). Place is loud and hard to talk, also has a door that keeps swinging open and blowing cold air at a bunch of tables. What an embarrassment, I recommend you get take-out desserts and snacks and leave as fast as you can.

Ever been to Europe? I don't mean like Contiki style, I mean properly, walking around the streets and little cafes everywhere that don't really seem like that fit into any time zone. Well, this is basically it. Yes, there are now laws in Australia where you can and cannot smoke, and yes they include no smoking under covered areas. But Vanilla is actually, if you look closely, located on a street in Greece, where rules don't apply and the points don't matter. Every second shop in this street basically contains meat on a stick, and all the others are for coffee and cake. And if you're not quite sure what to do for the day, why not head to Vanilla, grab a table with friends, and chill out for a few hours. As long as you keep buying food and coffee, you can probably move in. I had an iced coffee and their strawberry cheesecake, and boyfriend had iced chocolate and a lemon tart. The strawberry cheesecake was so creamy and filling, I'm glad I skipped lunch. I don't like lemon tarts, but even that was good. Honestly, Europeans make cake well, like so well. So do yourself a favour, relax, drink coffee and treat yourself. Oh yeah, they do like savoury food too, I guess.
