2 night stay (Sunday & Monday nights) for leisure. Solo road trip from Adelaide so wanted to stay outside of the CBD so it was easier with the car. Paid in full using Qantas Frequent Flyer points.
Pros: -Guaranteed parking with a personal button to raise/lower the security boom on your allocated carpark to avoid it being taken by someone else. Parking charged at additional $15 per night which is good in comparison to other properties. -Great guest services staff - from booking and pre-check in phone contacts, check in, smiles throughout the stay and also check out. -I seemingly got upgraded into a room without asking or any discussion at all, in fact. I booked a studio apartment but I think I was in a one bedroom apartment. Spacious, comfortable. Thank you! -Comfy bed and pillows. -Nespresso machine and coffee pods in the room. -Personal beauty items were great! O&M products - Aussie made, smelled amazing and made my hair super soft, thicker and shiny. -Iron was pretty decent and also clean - no residue build up and filth as usual in a hotel room. -Decently priced in contrast to other properties. -Walking distance to the main shopping/food strip in Oakleigh and also Chadstone.
Cons: -Fairly old TV that isn’t ‘smart’ so unable to login to your streaming accounts etc. -Room could have been a bit cleaner - fair amount of dust around on skirting boards etc. -Exhaust fan in bathroom inoperable. Even with the door open, lots of moisture builds up not only in the bathroom, but the rest of the apartment too. This has resulted in a lot of mould. After staying in many hotels/apartments around Aus and internationally, both cheaper and more costly, I’ve come to expect a bit of mould in the bathroom here and there. But the mould in this bathroom is very excessive - please invest in a product and some extra hours for your housekeeping staff to deal with it. All through the grout, the walls, ceiling. I was hesitant on even getting in the shower to start with; however had no choice because it was after hours with no staff on site so didn’t bother requesting another room. There is also mould present in various other places in the apartment including on blinds and curtains because of the moisture. -There is a Shisha Lounge downstairs (in addition to an Asian restaurant). Sadly the Shisha Lounge patrons don’t have much respect for the people staying upstairs - loud voices, slamming doors and revving obnoxiously loud vehicles quite late. -WiFi wasn’t great/stable. -Road noise is quite loud - I was in a corner apartment with a bedroom that was along the main road. -Unable to darken room much as there is lots of gaps in the roller blinds and curtains. -Coffee pods and personal beauty items weren’t replaced after the first day. -No heating/cooling in the bedroom - only a split system in the main living area. Current weather is not too hot, not too cold so it was fine. But I imagine in the very cold and very hot weather, getting the temperature right in the bedroom wouldn’t be easy.
All in all, a decent enough stay and I would stay again for the right price/deal. Good option if you have a vehicle and want to avoid the hassle of the CBD. Appears to be a 3 star rated facility and that seems...

Read morePeter the manager of the punthill Oakleigh hotel in Melbourne was wonderful and really showed a lot of care towards me given I’d just gotten out of the nearby Monash hospital after a month in there, and was needing to recover at his hotel before going back into there ( I live in Perth now but am originally from Melbourne so my neurologist of 9 yrs is still based in Melbourne). He was super understanding re us not knowing exactly the dates we’d need to stay til, and if anything was wrong he was quick to get the lovely jonno in maintenance to fix it. ||Claudia and fern at the front desk were also so kind and warm and both were really helpful too! Having a supportive environment in between hospital stays when u are very unwell makes all the difference and I’ll never forget the way Peter and the team helped my partner and I whilst we were there! Thanks so much again!:)||Ps loveeed the deep spa bath that was so good for the fibromyalgia and joint pains I have, the big lounge and bedroom area, and all the amenities u could possibly need in the kitchen too! The balcony is a nice touch as well, and loved having a shisha bar right below the hotel as well! A really great place with fantastic staff members who go above and beyond to...
