Being Greek food lover and therefore are often in Oakley to enjoy their cousine. Because our preferred Tavern was closed we decided to test Mega Yeeros. Bad choice! The only friendly experience was with the first waiter accommodating our requested seats. We ordered drinks and grilled octopus as entree plus as main menu a Yeeros platter and a skewer platter. Drinks arrived fast. About 15 min later the mains, no entree. Asking for it was answered with "it's coming". So we waited a bit however as nobody took any further attention regarding the entree we started with the main. Apart from being lukewarm the food was tasteless and in both mains more than 50% of the meat was only fat. Looking for the attention of the waiters who were constantly passing our table failed because they were purely concentrating on "fishing" customers. Nobody was caring for the seated clients around us either. After 30min the entree, grilled octopus, arrived. Perhaps we should better refer to a grilled rubber. Totally uneatable as even the knife failed to cut it. With now being half into the mains we decided to stop and get one of the waiters to tell them we want to pay. Wishful thinking! Nobody could bother less. After another 15min we simply stopped one of the waiters to show him the platter and how the food looks like. He disappeared and came back 5 min. later telling us what we had. We told him that we obviously know it because we ordered it. This time we made it clear to him that the food was the most horrable one we ever had and now want to pay yet not willing to pay for the octopus, which we couldn't even eat. This now triggered the chief waiter to appear who asked why we didn't complain any earlier. Explaining that nobody did bother to ask us about how the food was or take notice about us looking for a waiters attention. By telling him that he became very rude and basically blaming us for all of it. We told him to bring the bill so we can pay and leave but never come back again. Not a single word of apology or any discount. It isn't hard to imagine what we tell our friends. Worst experience since the last 30 years we live...
Read moreThis was my first time trying Mega Yeeros. I was contemplating whether to give them 3 or 4 Stars, but, based on food alone, I believe 4 Stars is fair.
When we arrived, there was just one other table with 6 people and us (we were two). The waitress was assisting the large table and kept on going between the kitchen and their table.
We waited for around a minute and, when nobody approached us, we just grabbed a seat (as the restaurant was basically empty).
Shortly after we sat down, other patrons started arriving and sitting outside, so a male waiter started going in/out to take water and menus to them.
On one of his trips, I asked him if we can just grab a menu and he just asked if we could wait a bit. By then, we had been inside for over 10 minutes!
A couple of minutes later, we did get water and a couple of menus. We placed our order with the girl and she shortly brought me the beer I ordered.
More people kept on arriving and, soon, some of the tables, who arrived after us, started to receive their food, which was frustrating.
I finally asked the waiter to come and advised him we’ve ordered 25 min ago (and been in for close to 40 min) and we intend on leaving in 5 min if we don’t get served.
He apologised, went to check with the kitchen, and within 2-3 minutes, brought our food.
The food was nicely presented and tasty. Far from the best Greek I’ve had, but, nevertheless, it was nice and fresh.
The prices were very good too — each dish was $22.90, which was good for the quantity.
As a whole, it was fine, however, considering the competition at Eaton Mall, I don’t believe I’d be going...
Read moreIf I could give less then 1 star I would. I don't leave many reviews online for restaurants but this is more of a warning. We ordered the Lamb platter & Bifteki platter. The Lamb came out cold we had to send it back to heat up and the beef was uncooked. Salad & Chips were ok, but big problem when paying for the meal, eftpos automatically ads on a surcharge, this was not mentioned anywhere on the menu, in fact the manager actually kept me waiting for over 15 minutes to get a sign from a neighboring restaurant to show there is a surcharge. What a joke ! Blamed the surcharge on the bank. The agreed price I was to pay was on the menu not their ridiculous sign that they started to stick on the counter. The manager showed no respect to me as a customer, was extremely unprofessional, rude and obnoxious. She also had a very bad hair loss problem, lots of loose long blonde hairs all over her clothes. She really should have it tied up working in a restaurant and frequently entering the kitchen. I don't know how this place passes the health standards, but if management treats their customers frequently like I was this evening, I am surprised this place is still in business. This was an appalling customer experience, I will never return to this...
