Via 9 — Restaurant in Melbourne

I have been visiting via 9 fairly regularly for the past couple of months. There is something to be said about not judging a book by its cover here. From the outside Via9 may not seem as updated as the cafe down the street but the food is amazing!

The owner is a Chinese and French trained chef and has quite a remarkable way with food. Everything you see on the menu is made fresh by the owner on the premises, from the dumplings and fried rice to the croissant’s, Danish pastries, coffee gateau and breakfast menu (he even bakes his own bread). The owner is very passionate about the food he creates and provides genuinely lovely service. His food is affordable and you can taste the quality.

Just recently found this place as I work nearby, have to say it really surprised me, the food is amazing. It is truely authentic, tasty Chinese food. Big generous portions at a great price. I’ve introduced a couple of work mates and we now go twice a week and are slowly working our way through the menu. Everything is made in house and is so bloody tasty. I’ve been working in the area for a while and thought i’d give this place a try. Well. the food was amazing the pan fried dumplings are definitely worth a mention.
