Victoria Hotel — Restaurant in Melbourne

I just had a very frustrating experience and hate leaving negative reviews but I feel like this is the only way I report my irritation, because the employees did not seem bothered putting me and my friends in a rut.

My three friends and I just finished climbing and wanted to grab a bite to eat, and this pub was in great proximity to nothwalls.

I quickly went up and ordered and then returned to the table. My friends then went to order and were denied, saying the kitchen was closed. I heard this was the case and tried to respectfully explain the situation to multiple employees, and they respectfully refused to budge; the time on my phone was exactly 2130.

I knew it was late, but I was not aware or informed of the kitchen closing time. I would have happily eaten somewhere else and not written this review, but this interaction put us in the tough spot since I was the only person who was allowed to order. We left promptly once our one, now take away, Parma arrived.

I really like this pub, it caters to a very specfic thing that I like which is non alcaholic beer and vegetarian food but it's obvisouly not the only thing they do. Plenty of my non vego, beer drinking friends enjoy this place just as much as I do because it's still serves meat and regular beers. It's a great place to socialize and watch the footy on the weekend. They have a $15 lunch special between 12-3 tues to sun with a pot of cider, 2 kinds of local beers or a soft drink. The vegetarian burger with chips here is top qaulity, they make it really well. I've also enjoyed the vego bangers and mash here. Most unprofessional management and staff you could ever have the misfortune of working with as a musician. What we put in and how they treated us and all the guests we brought in (they couldn’t pull more than five other people apart from the at least thirty we brought) was enough to want to call the police on this place. A drunken staff member who decided he didn’t like the style of ol time rock we played Literally pushed our female singer into a wall. Still kicking myself for not bothering to take the manager to court but decided to save our good vibes and never set foot in the place again, even if they change management, this place is dead to me...
