Great coffee & lovely interior (though, a little tight/loud). Sadly my husband and I found the food quality didn’t meet the price when we visited recently.

$26 for the pictured (Dutch) french toast was very steep given the small portion and lack of flavour. Slices could have greater thickness? They forgot our add-on (which happens) but we believe we were still billed for it (our fault for not checking).

I was given sugar in my coffee on a different visit (they were very busy, an understandable mistake and they politely informed me), but the waitresses seemed to out-serve the owner.

Nasi-goreng on the menu seems distasteful given the political history of Dutch invasion. Didn’t try this so it may do the dish a service I’m not aware of, but seems like significant cultural appropriation. I hope they employ Indonesian chefs/staff and pay them accordingly (or, they could include ‘Indonesia’ in the cuisine inspiration rather than the massive Dutch push alone).

Genuinely a delicious coffee according to my husband, mine was great aside from the sugar. The slice I had, whilst a steep $12, was nice. :)

Probably won’t rush back for the food / Dutch white-washing of other cultures. Would love to see...

Unfortunately I was very disappointed by the food today. The burger I ordered was cold and the meat overcooked. All 8 of us were not happy with the food as it was cold and just not palatable. Service was good overall from the waitress and the atmosphere was ok. The only positive here was the coffee and fries, they were amazing. I tried some sausage from my sister and it was also cold and had a watery mouth feel. The cooking technique was poor as evident with the cold food and poor taste

The service score dropped in my review overall due to the following. We were charged $50 extra for something we never received at the table and had to question this with the front staff which was ok as mistakes happen. The unfortunate/ annoying part was when we were made to feel as though we were lying about it and ended up working out that they printed off the wrong table number. Ruined the vibe of the family get together we had.

You would think that as things were ordered they would be ticked off as they were delivered to the table. Evidently this was not the case. It wasn't a good overall impression and we will not be back to this...

“Mokum” means all are welcome - this truly seems fitting for this delightful cafe’. I discovered Mokum accidentally a few months back- It appeared like an oasis in front of us and we seemed to be drawn inside. I’m in a wheelchair and accessibility was no issue- My carer is a vegetarian this was also not an issue We ordered coffee and a mushroom medley I could not say the coffee was good as that wood be an understatement- it was mind blowing- a complete revelation. The perfect temperature, not bitter a depth of flavour you could drown in. Our meal was sensational so full umami richness and faultlessly prepared. The staff were friendly and attentive and added to the groovy atmosphere. I knew I had to return with my other carer who is a big foodie and yesterday we did - we were not disappointed. Once again the coffee was on another plane entirely- ambrosia! We both had the Satay which was thick, creamy and perfectly spiced coating the most tender chicken pieces Although I had raved about Mokum he said I had undersold. The staff again elevated the experience adding to the atmosphere. I can’t...

Honest dutch unsalted opinion here. It's very overpriced, mid quality, dutch fried food served like it's a posh meal. Bit of a let down since we were looking to come here for a while. The frikandel speciaal was chewy and the crust hard, not like back home at all. 9 dollars for thid quality is kinda wild. The patatje oorlog (should be frietje oorlog IYKYK) Peanut saus was a joke, it was more like peanut butter. Having just come from Indonesia and having tasted their peanut sauce(where it originates) and having eaten frietje oorlog back home for years this was just terrible. On a positive note, the Ice coffee was good and so were the fries themselves. The interiors is also great! Sadly the owner was not really involved with us or interested in speaking Dutch to us much. Not the vibe you want if you're a Dutchy abroad. Not really sure how this has 5 stars🙃 You can do better mate... in fact for a restaurant of this caliber and these prices you SHOULD do better. Hope you improve and represent our country properly, give them Aussies the real quality taste of dutch fried delights 🇳🇱
