In all honesty we didn’t have a booking, we were offered two tables in different locations outside, which we were grateful for. However, being told you need to make a booking if you want to eat in this town, was not very welcoming.
We proceeded to order food, and the table service was quite good. However if you’re going to make me wait over 1 hour for gnocchi, you’d better be sure it doesn’t taste like play dough. If I also order spaghetti that includes seafood, the expectation is that I receive seafood in the spaghetti and I’m charged accordingly.
Another dish that was ordered was the lamb souvlaki pizza. The dish was “ok”, however, halfway through, my mouth was cut, and I removed a 2cm shard of plastic that was embedded in the pizza.
I showed the young waitress the plastic shard, and asked her to show the kitchen staff, she did not return.
Upon settling the bill, I raised the issue and was told, I’d receive a 50% discount on the pizza. I left half the pizza on my plate so was not satisfied with this outcome. I was also not satisfied that the chef did not come out and apologise for his major stuff up, and left a 15 or 16 year old young waitress to deal with this major stuff up. Will not be...
Read moreI have visited here before and knew the food was lovely, so went yesterday (a Saturday night) again with my dad. We arrived at 7:34pm and were told the kitchen was closed and they were only serving pizza. It was strange, as it is summer holiday time with plenty of tourists around and diners still enjoying their meals in the restaurant. We had previously ordered pasta which we were wanting to order again, so decided to leave try again another time. We went again early this evening (Sunday), partially because their opening hours were later, advertised on Google as closing at 8:30pm. However, we arrived and found the restaurant to be closed, with no sign indicating a closure due to unforeseen circumstances etc.
We were quite disappointed, as we have eaten there together twice in the past, and had pleasant experiences. To be let down two days in a row, with both kitchen and restaurant closures contradicting their google opening hours (which appeared to be updated recently) was disappointing, to...
Read moreVery disappointing- had a reservation but still waited 1hour 30 mins for the meal. Order was wrong which led to a further wait, that steak was virtually raw when the request was medium. Limited wine list & the staff knew nothing about the wines on menu. There seemed to be a preference to satisfy takeaways and not look after the seated patrons. After this review was posted I received a fairly unpleasant phone call from the manager/owner of the restaurant. It is fair to say that he did not take my honest feedback well. There were nasty comments about me which culminated in a statement by him ‘don’t step foot in my restaurant ever again’ He also invited me to post a negative review about his phone call! I accepted that invitation so now I can share the total Duci’s experience which is negative. I note that the manager at no time disputed the factual matrix of my review. There was no apology! Duci’s will not improve it’s reputation with this attitude and...
