Merimbula Bakery & Café/Inthemix — Restaurant in Merimbula

I’ve given this bakery a few chances, but every time I’ve been in the service has been consistently rude. Staff never smile, are very blunt, and make it feel like you’re bothering them just by asking for something simple like a sandwich. On more than one occasion I’ve been told “we don’t have them, they’re not made” with no attempt to be helpful. At that point I usually just walk out.

The food doesn’t make up for the service either pies are bland and taste average , and the sausage rolls are greasy and unappetising. Honestly, the only reason I’ve stopped here is when I don’t have the time to drive to a better bakery in Tura beach.

Came in at 7:15am on a Saturday morning. Lots of stuff covered in glad wrap like slices ect. Ordered a cream donut and a scroll. Unfortunately once we got these out in the light of day it became apparent they were baked yesterday. We assumed everything was baked fresh or at least if it was yesterdays, they tell you that and price accordingly. The cream was tasting a bit cheesy and the scroll was rock hard. Friendly, prompt service and great central location in Merimbula town. However this was let down by the quality of my pastry (pastie was very hard on the edges - filling ok) and finger bun was dry and tasteless. Once you’ve been to Wild Rye’s Bakery in Pambula (closed today unfortunately due to the public holiday) you can appreciate the quality difference. Shop and food presentation could also be improved but I would suggest they firstly improve their bakery offerings for long term success given higher quality bakery items at Woolworths and...
