Lucky Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Midvale

Old restaurant and food was mediocre. We are the only table when we were there around 1pm and we ordered about 3 main dishes with 1 soup, a pot of rice & tea for 4 pax. The not so friendly waitress told us that there is a minimum spending of AUD$15 per pax and what we ordered might not meet the requirement which clearly based on simple calculation we already met. She kept asking us to order another main dish so that we can be "sufficiently" meet the minimum which we did eventually cos she said that "Yes, you should meet minimum but is BETTER to order another dish". Guess what, their aircon was not even working and the whole place is hot & stuffy. First encounter with a minimum spent "hard sell" restaurant. Probably they are just too hard up cos we are the ONLY customers there...

We have been a frequent customer of this restaurant since 1999 it’s changed hands a few times. We think the food is great often buying takeaway of 6 or 7 dishes sometimes 2 days week, just recently there has been this man at the counter whom is micro managing the staff and has repeatedly telling me that I only paid for 1 item less that I received a few months ago, o told him it’s wasn’t me, and explained that I wasn’t even in that day, but every time I go in there he is persistent to the point that I have decided never to go back.. harassment and poor customer service, also the prices have skyrocketed way beyond the normal… he is also forever talking about how expensive everything is, I believe he is trying justify his high prices. Sorry man you lost a 26 year...

The flavour and taste of the food here is absolutely good. Got a takeaway from here last week. I ordered the food - they said it will take 10 minutes, so i went back and sat in the car. Within 6 or 7 minutes, the lady at the counter came out with the takeaway to the car - Didn't expect such great service. Only thing was, i thought the price was marginally higher than our other regular chinese place near Midland - but still this one is worth it.
