We walked the main street of Moonta checking the meals being served for lunch. We were looking for tasty, healthy, creative meals. The Taste of York was the clear winner (note that all the cafes looked appealing and appetising but for different quisines). The egged beni with salmon and the smashed avacado were both lovely. Fresh, quality ingredients and presented well. Atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Our only minor issues being the bread/bagel which, while sufficient, didn't quite live up to the expectations of the other ingredients. Service was friendly but amazingly inefficient due to new staff being trained and several customer groups with major decision issues! Just served the fresh scones, very yummy!

We came here for the traditional Cornish Pasties and were not disappointed! Picture this: Light as light beautifully browned pastry, finely chopped meat and veggies one end with just enough tomato sauce, at the other end apple pie & cream!! Add that to the smiling, friendly, efficient service, superb coffee, yummy hot chocolates, and a beautiful outlook to Queen Square. You just have to try it! The place goes crazy at opening time when all the locals, tradies & shopkeepers pour in for morning treats! We came back for more the first chance we got!! In Moonta?! Get a taste for Taste the Yorke!!

QUESTION TO START . . . Have you ever had an OGGIE at Taste the Yorke?! Had lunch here today. We decided, from an interesting menu, with some great options, to try a FAIR DINKUM PROPER OGGIE - was sensational - served with tommy sauce for savoury end 2/3 and fresh cream for the apple end 1/3. Service was swift and friendly- staff were chipper! We also had coffee which was good, not great, but good! Can recommend sitting outside - most pleasant - so, finally - NEXT TIME YOU MOTOR TO MOONTA HAVE THE OGGIE, you will not be sorry! OGGIE, OGGIE, OGGIE!

Jo has a fantastic team of staff who are always smiling and friendly and super helpful. They make the best coffee ever, very consistent - very delicious. Selection of wraps/cakes/light meals all day. They work incredibly hard from the moment they open the doors to the end of the day to delight their customers and don't we love it and them! The food always pleases whether it's a savoury or sweet brekky or lunch, a very traditional Cornish pasty - baked to order - or a sweet treat, a home made cookie, old fashioned scone or a yummy cake. There's always a great selection of food available, any time of day, but the kitchen does close at 2pm or so should you be treating yourself to something on the menu. Best to check kitchen times by phoning in if you're unsure. Take the advice of a regular customer - do yourself a favour...

They must have had a shocker!! Looking for a nice lunch spot to celebrate an 81st birthday - although a little busy, we stopped by and found a seat inside quite quickly. Well, that's about as good as it got - SLOOOOOW service, Banana milkshake was worse than the old deli ones - just milk and artificial flavoring. Quiche and salad for me and the birthday girl - which took forever to arrive - to find a "bakery" bought quiche pie with a slap of salad (which wasn't terrible to be honest) - disappointing. My wife had the Piadini - oh please - it was as HARD AS A CRUSTY BISCUIT - burnt and just plain awful. Our thoughts of this place are changed forever - even the owner asked how things were - our response (a bland okay rather than venting our true feelings) - she knew they were having a very bad day. Don't bother -...
