When we arrived in the town of Moonta having not been here in a very long time we were looking for somewhere to have lunch. Driving past the Main Street Maggi’s cafe caught our eye so we decided to dine in. We were greeted by the owner Peter who was lovely enough to tell us a bit about their history having only opened this cafe this year on Good Friday. We were blown away by the food. It was all home made and soo fresh with so many options. When we finished up we booked in to come back the following night wanting to try more of the menu. The featured picture is their slow cooked duck ragu with home made papadeli. We recommend this place to anyone wanting fresh home made food cooked with love. Keep up the good work Peter and his wife Yvonne who runs the kitchen. You both deserve every single one of these five stars

By far, this is the tastiest Indian food in Australia. Tried many Indian restaurants in VIC, SA, NSW and this is a hidden gem indeed! Didn’t expect it to be this delicious and it’s located in Moonta Bay, SA. There were 4 of us and we ordered Aloo Gobi, Tandoori Prawn, Eggplant with Potatoes, Butter Chicken, Beef Curry, Garlic Cheese Naan and plain basmati rice. The portion were generous and we had a hearty meal. The Garlic Cheese naan were just so good and the Aloo Gobi & Eggplant with Aloo taste were just right! We enjoyed most of the dishes except the Butter Chicken were a bit too sweet for our liking. Purely real northern Indian taste.. authentic! We will definitely come back the next time should we go visit Moonta Bay again! This 6hrs trip from VIC is worth it! Thanks again for the great cook 😍

First visit to Moonta, and couldn’t have asked for better! After a long drive and no luck finding good veg food on the way, I finally came across The Indian Grill. Ordered a lemon lime bitters (so refreshing), paneer 65 (chef’s kiss!), palak paneer, and garlic naan - all absolutely spot on. Got a cozy seat by the window, good music in the background, and every bite hit differently. Only thing interrupting my meal? My sisters calling mid-bite 😂 Portion sizes were generous, quality was great, and the service was warm and polite. Loved it, will definitely be back next time I’m in Moonta!

If you see a sign on the street saying "Maggie's cafe open" keep walking it's a lie. Do not recommend this place at all. We noticed a sign on the street "Open dine in or takeaway" we thought perfect for a takeaway coffee.

As we approached the front door there was another sign in the front window it also said open. We tried going in but the door was locked, we noticed a Gentleman behind the counter on his phone. We were a bit confused and tried again, the Gentleman finally looked up and unlocked the door and abruptly said "do you have a booking" to which we said no we're just after takeaway coffees. He then huffed and said oh yea I guess so.

We were a bit taken back, as we have never experienced that kind of service and I am guessing it was the owner. We replied no we will be going somewhere else. The Gentleman then replied something along the lines of no worries see ya.

I understand small business get busy etc. And of course staff should have a break, however he was not seating anyone, or serving anyone, there was no line up and there were only a few small to medium groups in the Cafe. It's not that hard to be kind as you have no idea what someone is going through. And it is not hard to say what he said in a nice way. And also don't advertise you do "takeaway" when you can't cope with making two small coffees.

We then went down a few doors to Nook and Nourish who not only make great coffee but their service was so friendly.

Glad we aren't locals as it would be so disappointing to live in a town with a Cafe giving service like they do...

Tried to order online for take away, the app wasn't working so tried to call the mobile number, disconnected. Drove to the store to order in person, lady at counter was rude and disorganised. Told us our order would be an hour after the app said 30min. Gave an excuse that they must of had extra orders in between us leaving home, what, 3 min before? Absolute cop out. Drove back an hour later, to chaos, couldn't find our receipt, tried to charge us for someone else's order, then tried to give us someone else's food. After much deliberations it was determined that their useless staff hadn't even put our order in!!! Were told we could wait ANOTHER 15min for our order. If it would be ready in 15mins, then why did we have to wait an hour to start off with? We said don't bother and asked for a refund. Took a further 5 mins to try and work out the eftpos and then seems like they ended up going through their handbags to find cash instead. Then excuses from staff, and attitude about offering discounts etc. Not going to happen, not interested. Don't bother with these guys at all. Disorganised, rude, and full of excuses. Not...

Went last night for my birthday, very disappointed, menu looked great , I ordered steak ,prawns etc with lobster tail , sounded great , we were told just before meal came out that they had run out of lobster so they would throw in a few extra prawns etc (which the didn't) . I wouldn't of chosen that meal if it didn't include lobster but I wasn't given the option to change meal as meal was already being cooked. . My father wanted his fish grilled but just before his meal came out, he was told it couldn't be done that way , again not given the option to change meal. We weren't offered any $s off even though the main component my meal didn't even turn up. Also no toilet at the restaurant and you had to run across the road in the cold to use the public toilets. The owner served us and was abrupt and rude , really disappointed to...
