Busy noisy cafe with ample inside seating and a small outdoor area in a busy traffic area. Order at the counter from a varied menu of classic Aussie (chicken parmi etc) and Italian meals. Kid and family friendly. Staff are good at their job and i saw incredible kindness towards some doddery old folks by the manager - good on ya mate. Had fish n chips (barramundi) which was lightly battered and the chips done perfectly with a small but good quality leafy salad. Fellow diner had the special, Thai squid salad which he reported as very good. My flat white and chocolate Gelati were both excellent. Sole complaint was the tip jar. Come on! This is Australia. In N America you wouldn't tip at a place where you don't order at the table. Ditch the tip jar. But a great place. Thoroughly recommended.

Their Parmy's are a bit different, with chunky beef pieces on top. Don't know why you need more meat... I suppose the (Bolognese) is to replace the generic ham on top. Was still nice, but not what's expected for a parmy. The only real reason I enjoy this cafe is because they stock Jenny's Bakery cakes. I had an iced mocha a few weeks ago and it was like drinking pure syrup. My first sip was very hard to get through the straw and literally all I got was the chocolate syrup. After a lot of stirring it was still just as thick. I ended up getting it in a take away cup, bringing it home and adding more than double that amount of plain milk to make it drinkable.

Was an exceptionally busy time of day, the staff were excellent but run off their feet. Very noisy atmosphere. We had a table of 6 with a variety of menu items chosen. A friend said they had heard the steak was “chewy”, ordered med-rare steak but it was indeed “well done” & “chewy”. Ordered bruschetta with bocconcini, there was not much of that ingredient on the plate but a large amt of red onion. The schnitzels, pasta & warm chicken salad were nice. Those that had dessert enjoyed Apple pie & cream.

Finally a good casual place to eat in mt Barker area. Constantly disappointed with cafes and restaurants around our area so don't go out much anymore along with having many sensory issues in public and loud spaces but we were stuck out shopping on a weekend and wanted to sit down so tried this place for lunch. Was expecting a "cafe Primo" vibe and had no high hopes. Upon entering for lunch place was spacious yet felt warm and inviting, we were seen to buy a young wait staff immediately who was on the ball and would continue to provide great service throughout the meal. Went over to order food at counter and a guy I suspected could be the owner took my order. Very friendly and made me feel welcome and like this was my regular joint all along. Food service was fast, mustard cheese bread for entree, was hot and very cheesy with perfect ratio of mustard seeds. I had pizza for lunch, was tasty and cooked well although perhaps overfilled on toppings but all toppings of decent quality. My partner had the lamb focaccia, bead was soft and fresh, generous serving of lamb and cheese was properly melted inside. Overall the food was that standard Australian Italian fair that so many places do, BUT these guys do it extremely well and with a spacious and warm atmosphere and good acoustics so it wasn't a sensory overload Has restored faith in eating out at casual restaurants. Will definitely...

Worst Customer Service I came you your restaurant today for a nice Mothers Day Lunch with my two daughters,.

We were booked in at 12 noon and had a lovely meal, however the customer service at our table by the young waitress was appalling.

After the waitress had cleared the meals from our table (approximately 1pm) she told us we would have to leave by 1.50pm for the second service, we thought that is fine, it will give us time to talk and finish our drinks.

She abruptly came to our table at 1.19pm and said “the other people are here you have to leave now” We were confused and said you told us 1.50pm, she cut us off and said “no I said 1.15pm”

She then snatched my drink off the table (3/4 glass of softdrink) and went to take my daughters unfinished alcoholic drinks as well ☹ my daughter grabbed her cider and skulled it.

I told the waitress she was rude and there was no need to take our unfinished drinks, but she couldn’t get rid of us quick enough. In fact we could have taken our drinks outside and sat in the sunshine and finished them where there were several empty tables, in fact we would have stayed for coffee and cake...

The new guy was a little too keen to do his job and unfortunately took my drink away before I was completely finished then my little niece had a Baby Chino and he come and took that away before she was finished with it !! Poor girl was so disappointed she didn't get to finish her Baby Chino 😢 then she was quietly playing with her plastic cup and he was trying to take that off her, thankfully her mum said to him nicely, " I don't think she's finished with that one yet !!

Nice enough guy just needs to hold back and make sure people are actually finished with their drinks !! Especially when you pay $9.50 for a drink and before you've even finished it it's heading back to the kitchen!!🤪🤪

I Love Caffe Acqua just was a bit disappointed this time !! Young fella just needs to back off a bit and relax !! Yes it's nice to have your finished dishes removed but when they're getting removed before you've even finished with them...
