Hadn’t been here in a while since I have moved over east but came here with my family and had a massive wake up call that this is not the restaurant I once loved. We were seated timely, ordered our drinks and they came all fine. Ordered our food and waited and waited until all pf our food had come except for one member of our party. We then asked the waitress if they could check on our food (this was around 8:30pm) to which she returned and told us that they had made an error where they did not put through the item we were waiting on despite the waitress who took our order confirming every item… and that now the kitchen is closed so we cannot have anything else. We were obviously shocked and asked the waitress (who was only 17 yet given the responsibility of dealing with this which is also ridiculous poor girl) if she would grab the manager and she left to get them. Chatting and waiting it was well past 9 the manager finally approached us after seeing him walk past us multiple times and he informed us that basically there was nothing he could do except offer us dessert. We were obviously unhappy with this and asked them if they could just make us one meal as it is ridiculous they couldn’t just do this after their error. Then he left again and we waited again another 20 minutes by which time it was about 9:15 and he came back and offered to make only the pan fried menu items but at this time we had all finished our meals and had shared some of our meals with the one person that had not eaten so we did not want to wait especially since they were not offering to make what he originally ordered. I myself have worked in hospitality and yes these things happen however it is ridiculous that you would not fix the situation by making one last meal. He also argued with us when we said that dessert is not a good compensation as they hadn’t eaten dinner and we’re waiting - he said ‘It is better than nothing’. Disgusting service. Will not only not recommend but will advise others to turn away. This place has gone so down hill....
Read more4 of us went tonight to have dinner with huge expectation that we had from previous experience. We had recommended our friends and work colleges . From previous experience we found exceptional customer service, the food was refreshing, our entre was sent out, we had enough time to enjoy before our mains arrived. And we brought our parents out again tonight. But tonight it’s huge disappointment. 2 of us ordered lady’s night deals which contain a glass a champagne, sourdough bread with dipping sauce and an option of main. We received our mains but no entre. We were asked if that was all , and mentioned about our entre not being brought out. We were told they would see to this. Again we waited . Half way through finishing our mains another staff member walked passed so we made an enquiry about our entre again. Again we waited After we all finished our mains, we approached a waitress who took our orders and asked about our entré to be taken away if possible. Finally we received it but only ONE serve. There were 2 of us ordered the deals. It was the continuous run around that has brought this low review. Not the fact that there was a mix up. But the fact that it took near on 30 minutes for our order to be corrected. The fact that we had to ask three times to correct our order. Read moreWe’ve always enjoyed visiting this venue, so we decided to book a table in the restaurant area for New Year’s Day. Unfortunately, our experience this time fell short.
We were seated at a high table and noticed a discrepancy in service compared to regular tables nearby. While other guests had waitstaff taking their orders, we were asked to order via a QR code (which wasn’t functioning) or directly at the bar.
The fish and chips we ordered were also disappointing—the chips were lukewarm, the fish was very oily, and it lacked seasoning and flavour. We chose not to raise this at the time because the venue was busy, as we didn’t want to put more pressure on the staff, but it didn’t change the fact that the experience was underwhelming.
After finishing our meal, we hoped to order dessert, but our table was never cleared, even as the restaurant grew quieter. We noticed that other tables were being attended to, but ours was not, which ultimately led us to leave without dessert.
Afterwards, the venue emailed us asking for feedback, and I took the time to provide thoughtful, constructive input. Disappointingly, they didn’t even acknowledge my email. That lack of care, especially when they initiated the feedback process, reflects poorly on their customer service.
While we’ve had positive experiences here in the past, this visit—and their carelessness—left us deeply disappointed. I hope this review encourages the venue to take customers feedback more seriously and improve...
