Yesterday, Win's Creek Meadery hosted my 80th birthday celebratory lunch for 25 people. I can’ t speak more highly of the venue and offerings, all provided with friendly service.
We started at midday in the lovely sun-drenched courtyard with a table covered in goodies for platters of Beekeepers Feast. These delightful starters were accompanied by delicious mulled mead – both alcoholic and non-alcoholic - served in pottery tumblers with interesting individual designs.
We were then seated in the charming rooms of the old post office to be served a range of yummy pizzas and salad. Soft drinks, craft beer and mead were provided and special arrangements had been made for the Callithumpians to have local wine if they wished.
The birthday cake was orange and almond decorated with almond slices and Royal Bluebell petals. It was made on the premises, cut up and served with ice-cream for dessert. We finished with coffee and tea.
A truly memorable lunch. Thank you, Maryanne and Michael. Before I left, I made a booking for my...

The pizza, in particular the gf pizza, was DELICIOUS, especially paired with their old drone ginger beer on a warm spring day. The prices weren't too expensive either, and I suppose my only 'complaint' was that it's not closer to Canberra, otherwise I'd go every fortnight!
I would suggest that the meadery updates their website design, as it's a little outdated and hard to navigate. Particularly finding their updated menus that would list all their food and drinks would be a great addition to the website, with clear links to their Facebook and Instagram pages :) Although not entirely necessary, I think having the option to make online bookings could be a great addition to the site too, for those who might otherwise not be able to communicate verbally or have sound hearing.
Very keen to try their cheeses and mulled mead next...
Read moreWe went to Win’s Creek Meadery for lunch with friends. We live locally and have been meaning to visit for a while. The pizzas and house ginger beer were excellent. We got the black garlic, chandelers, spicy Italian and Hawaiian. Everyone including our friends were very happy with their pizzas. The Chandlers was unique with pear and honey - absolutely delicious. The staff were easy going and friendly.
It was a very hot summers day and the rooms inside were lovely and cool. The building has lots of character, it looks like it might be an old rammed earth building. There was work by local artists on display - we particularly liked the pottery. We brought some local honey as well.
A great local business - we...
