Narrabri Bowling Club — Restaurant in Narrabri

This review is for the Bowling Club only. Was staying at the club motor inn and was recommended to go to the club for a meal. We decided to have a walk and ended up back at the club at 7.10pm. Decided to only order dessert as they looked like they didn’t have enough staff and were busy - 3 staff and about 30 people in total. There was only one option - carrot cake which was already cut up and sitting in front of the person taking the orders. I thought they would just give it to me straightaway but she said they would bring it out to me. After 30 mins, my husband checked and they said they were bringing it right out. After 45 mins I went up to ask for my money back as people who had ordered a meal after me were now being served. I had to line up for another 5 mins and when I got to the front of the line, she had my money to refund. She said the staff didn’t have time to get it! No apology, just so disorganised. Updated review: The club has had a makeover in the past 4 months with a rearranged decor and a new chef and menu. New menu offers a range of Sri Lankan food which is cooked to your choice of spiciness, and a limited range of Aussie food including lasanga, a couple of pizzas, rissoles and garlic prawns on rice. We had the Lankan Pan fried chicken and the garlic prawns and rice. The chicken was excellent, subtle flavours and just spicy enough, the Garlicsauce was also good, but a little watery. Must have been a nad night. Patrons waited for hours for food. Saw many people leave and others returned food and asked for a refund. Some people didnt get their meals at all. We accepted wrong meals as we felt sorry for them but our meals were inedible. My husband and I have been feeling all day which is not great for a road trip. They ran out of meals so there was little to chose from and they were telling people to go to KFC or McDonalds. Such a shame as it basically ruined our night as visitors from interstate.
