On Lee — Restaurant in Narrabri

We had a cheeky Chinese on our last night in town for a work trip & were very pleasantly surprised to find some of the best Aussie style Chinese I have ever eaten.

We had our dishes family style & ordered between four people:

Mixed Entree Singapore Noodles Special Fried Rice Satay Chicken Chicken with Ginger & Shallots Mongolian (I think) Lamb (maybe beef????) S&S Pork

Everything was packed with flavour & the portion sizes were generous. We ended up with left overs which we had for a weird breakfast the next morning before we left at stupid o'clock.

The staff were lovely. Everyone friendly & cheerful & I really liked watching them interact with the customers who were obviously regular locals. They asked about family members & chatted about milestone events that were coming up. True country town stuff & it was really nice to witness. As an Asian, chinese food really remind us for our hometown, always visit every chinese restaurant when I move.. I visited this place last year, it was delicious.. that last year memories, made me visit this place again this year. I go for takeaway dinner.. the food getting worse, maybe they change the cook.. from *5 to *1 The services is average and not many people eating dinner there.. They also gave me wrong order.. I ordered crab meat corn soup, they gave me chicken instead, ordered king prawn with vegetable and mushroom, the only thing I can taste there is oyster sauce only, chips were good, have no complaint for that.. I hope they will fix that, maybe will try again next time, but...

Travelling with a group of colleagues, we opted to do an impromptu variation from the standard pub grub. Walking in you are welcomed in to a setting that is elegant and friendly. A large area that still manages to feel intimate. The other diners were a mixed batch of moms on a group dinner, couples on a date, travellers grabbing dinner for takeaway and groups sitting down for a 3 course meal.
