Hunter Valley Resort is a beautiful and quiet place for you to calm yourself down, relax and enjoy the nature with food and wine. The accommodations were spacious and comfortable with aircon in the summer and heater for the winter. Each rooms were provided with beverages and biscuits. Food at the 4Pines restaurant was delicious and looks like work of art! The F&B staffs were awesome, friendly, accommodating and warm. They really went the extra mile to make you feel comfortable. Special mention Lucas - we were first time at the resort and tourist from Singapore. We were told to make reservations for our dinner. So I made it at the Garden area (thinking that it will be nice to have our meals in nature). But we underestimated the weather. Temperature starts to drop as soon as the sun sets and it was too cold to have our meals outdoors. Without a second of hesitation, Lucas offered to prepare a table for us indoors so that we could have our dinner in a nice warm, cosy environment. He really made my day when I was at the resort! Thank you so much! We attended the Pizza-making class conducted by Chef Yumi. She was a great culinary chef with great passion for good food. She was so kind to share with us her knowledge on pizza-making. She was always warm, kind and friendly. She always made sure we jot down notes on the recipe so that we could make our own pizzas when we were back from the stay there. We were really happy to be able to visit your resort. Thank you for the hospitality.

My husband and I are currently staying at the Hunter Valley Resort. We have been regulars here over the last 12. Yesterday, I left a ‘not so happy’ google review - intended as feedback from a long-standing, well-meaning patron who wishes to see enduring success and standards from a venue that is very loved by our family. I have now replaced that review with this one. The manager took time to meet my husband and I this morning. We had a wonderful chat - around our feedback and also a number of other general topics as well. He asked repeatedly what he could do for us to express how much the venue cares for its patrons. We said repeatedly that we require nothing and we were just glad to see how much a patron’s feedback is valued. I even told him I was going to delete my previous review as it was enough for me to know my feedback had been welcomed. However, we just returned to our room to find this wonderful platter of gourmet Hunter valley cheeses and wine. See pic attached. In a world where most things are dispensable, the Hunter Valley Resort chooses to make its patrons feel seen, valued and indispensable. Thank you to Eamonn and all the staff, we are very grateful indeed - yes, for the platter but mostly for the continually great experiences we have enjoyed at the Hunter Valley Resort over the years.

The restaurant had a stunning view, and the dinner was delightful. We visited on a Friday after our arrival, but the service was quite slow, and securing an indoor table required a reservation. We opted to sit outside in the cold, but they provided a heater, which was a plus. Although the food took quite some time to arrive, when it did, it was hot and delicious. However, the next morning, we went for breakfast, as it was supposedly included in our package according to the receptionist. Unfortunately, the breakfast was disappointingly basic and lacked flavor. We were served unbuttered toast, eggs, and unsalted avocado. The brekky menu was just basic and nothing special, or standing out from it, To add to our surprise, there was an unexpected surcharge, which seemed unreasonable. We were informed that we had to pay for breakfast because it wasn't included in our booking, despite what we had been told. It's frustrating when establishments provide incorrect information and then backtrack on their promises to customers.

It is with profound regret, that, I needed to write to you about our family members experience today. After having travelled over 250 kms, and arriving at your destination, a point of high light of our anticipated travel, we were overwhelmed by the sadness of what we went through. Maybe, an oversight on our part, or, something, did not gel for someone. The truth is, and without prejudice, our visit was of great expectations. What we encountered, was totally out of left field. Why, I am still bewildered, as I’m sure you have worked very hard, to have maintained everything to be first class, visitors, and guests alike. What we as a group experienced was something else. A simple thank you, was not forthcoming, in any shape or form, none of our group, were there long enough to have consumed enough liquor, to have presented with abuse. That, was not any part of our conversation, but, open, selective ignorance presented. When, a simple “thank you”, is replied by the bar staff with total disregard, then, it was then deemed, we had outworn our welcome sadly. The food side needed a visit, so did the music played, could be looked at according to the type of venue, and atmosphere of the clientele anticipated, into the enterprise. It was decided, after a while, to not, endure further and to venture further down the road to another facility, similar to the one we had just been. To our amazement and complete surprise and contrast, we were met with such friendliness and compassion, it was so hard to digest. All in all, a great experience and conclusion was felt by all in our group. In conclusion, thank you for the opportunity of being allowed to...

I can’t help but feel as though we were a little catfished here.. the photos on the website definitely do not reflect the property as is. Property appears a little more run down that pictured and the rooms were aged and outdated. Not what you would expect from a “four star resort”.

Breakfast was in fact NOT included as advertised, rather you received a $15 voucher per person for each morning you stayed which of course doesn’t even cover a yogurt and a coffee. A few of the room/activity features that are listed on the website don’t quite match anymore.

Beds were uncomfortable, only 1 pillow each provided (no spares in the room as there normally would be) hot water was inconsistent every time we showered.

Our breakfast was just completely missed/forgotten the first morning even though we were the only ones there.. the staff responsible seemed pretty insincere when it came to apologizing about having to wait 45 minutes for breakfast (B+E Roll and yoghurt + Granola).

Came back to the “resort” on the Saturday night thinking we would have a couple of last drinks at 4 Pines so we didn’t have to drive only to be told they decided to close an hour early and refused service despite being advertised as operating until 10pm.

The best part of our stay was the horse riding at sunset.. Great service. Lengthy and worthwhile ride Although, I believe this may be a separate company that operates this activity from the property.

I definitely recommend the horse riding.. unfortunately I cannot say the same for the accommodation itself or the service/food from 4 Pines...

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this venue a few weeks ago.

First, I came in for lunch on a Saturday with some friends and we really enjoyed our lunch and drinks sitting on the verandah, taking in the beautiful scenery and enjoying the food. We then went over to visit the ostrich and other animals in the farm, which was a unique and fun experience. The animals were adorable and it was a nice change from what we would normally do when we go out together.

I enjoyed our stay so much so that later that evening my husband, son and I came back for dinner in the barrel venue, and it was spectacular. The service from our waiter (and everyone), was phenomenal. He went above and beyond to help with my seafood allergy and discussing my concerns with the chef. He was great. The food was delicious. I had the cornbread, mashed potatoes and side salad, which were all really tasty, especially the cornbread. I’m from Texas originally and we make and eat lots of cornbread and my husband said it was the best he’s ever had. My husband had the 3 pigs pizza, and again said it’s the best he’s ever had. He was still talking about it the next day. My son had the pork belly bites and kids fish and chips and he loved it and ate it all. The wine was also beautiful, which I had the Thomas bottle of Sauv Blanc. I’ll definitely recommend to all of my friends and come back again. Come to think of it, it was a friend of mine who suggested our group of girls go there for lunch because she had been before and enjoyed it as well. I’m so glad she...
