Bakehouse Cafe (Gorokan) — Restaurant in New South Wales

Very disappointed. We have been long time customers here despite the surge in prices and poor customer service from the younger staff members. Yesterday I sent my mother in to purchase some curry pies and sausage rolls as I was craving a nice pie. Was only one curry pie left so she also purchased two Thai chicken curry pies which I had never tried before. 3 sausage rolls were purchased too. The ends of them were half an inch thick of hard crustiness, mine actually cut the roof of my mouth open while trying to eat it (clearly old and crusty) and one of the chicken pies were consumed and gave my son food poisoning.. what a night I have had with him. I am disgusted to see a wonderful business turn to rubbish. The young staff have been observed to have poor hygiene aswell which would contribute to the spread of bacteria and germs. I will be reporting to the appropriate authorities as this needs to be fixed. You cannot be charging almost $40 for 3 pies and 3 sausage rolls to cut a persons mouth and give their child food poisoning.. Shame on...

On Thursday, I asked for a ham salad sandwich to be made up. The assistant asked me to go to the till to order. She asked if I wanted white bread, tomatoes, I said yes please, salad. She said lettuce, I said yes, beetroot, okay thanks and 3 or 4 other items sge mentioned, all of wh9ch were salad. All sorted, she said $13 please. I paid and then as I thought about it later, I thought, OMG, $13 for a ham salad sandwich? I rang them the next day to ask if they had made a mistake and the assistant said that each item they add they charge $2 for!! Whilst she said she doesn't agree with that,its what her manager has implemented. She said that there is a list at the deli counter of additions but as she took my order at the till, I wasn't privy to that. I have asked for the manager to call me to discuss this but she has not bothered. $13 for a ham salad sandwich m, which by the way was very ordinary, is outrageous and I certainly won't go back there again to...

I have been buying the soughdough bread. Last week I bought two loaves in one sale but to my disgust they charged me an 11 cent surcharge on EACH loaf. I hope the ACCC can explain that one to me. It is illegal to overcharge this way. If I buy 10 loaves do you add on $1.10? The shrink-flation in the cakes had been noted along time ago when one day the vanilla slices went from one size & the very next day they were cut in half & wanted the same price.
