Wallarah Bay Recreation Club — Restaurant in New South Wales

Here's some pointers to a very ordinary experience today at lunch:

1. Couldn't buy two coffees at the coffee shop because they didn't come to a total of $10.00 When told I could withdraw money without a fee at reception I do so, only to then have to walk to the gaming bar to get my cash. This bar seems to be staffed by people that are more intent on chatting with each other than serving, I suppose they thought because I wasn't aware of which register was actually open I should not be served.

2. Men are not allowed to wear hats. Women are. This needs to be changed to no hats at all, or everyone is allowed hats. I am fairly sure that discrimination law trumps your backward and downright silly rules on hats. While you're at it, how about a dress code that doesn't let in people that are wearing open toed shoes, that surely is a no-no in a licensed premises. If hats are not allowed, how about not allowing people who haven't washed either their clothes or their armpits this year.

3. The two pots of tea we purchased tasted of cleaning solution. I think the issue there is the young lady serving coffee and tea is also expected at the same time during a very busy period to make sandwiches as well as collect money. No wonder she is accidentally poisoning her customers.

4. The burger came with nice tasty chips, however the poor old burger pattie was burnt to a crisp and only edible with lots of sauce.

We complained about some of these things but for goodness sake it's not our job to point out you are not doing yours. Get more staff, update your stupid dress code rules, let me use my credit card to buy less than $10 worth of drinks and if you cook the thing properly I won't feel cheated by a $30 burger.

I won't be back until you do, and neither will anyone that ate with me today. The view is great from the window seats but I can get the same view from the beach out the back and just...

I attended the club with my friends on 19 April. We were very disappointed with our experience at this club. Despite simply enjoying ourselves on the dance floor, sober and causing no trouble, we were unexpectedly kicked out without explanation. At no time did we use offensive language or profanity inside the club nor were we drunk or disorderly. At no time were drinks spilled or anyone falling over, at no time did we ever not abide the directions given to us by the club . We never displayed any aggressive or disrespect behaviour towards other patrons in the club or staff or management. I hope and ask that our behaviour be reviewed on your CCTV. We were asked to leave approximately 10.30pm. There was one bar staff member. Black hair straight , mature aged lady, thin build who was very rude for no apparent reason. The manager on the night sat back and had no control or gave direction but simply left it to security. One of my friends was invited up to the stage by the band to sing. Security came and asked her to come off the stage which she did immediately and apologised. She then went into the sports bar to apologises again to security and staff only to have the security guard berate her whilst she pointed her finger in her face and said “this is your first and final warning”.From the moment we left the restaurant to the bar area we felt we were being watched the entire time which made us feel very intimidated. It was an upsetting and confusing end to what should have been a fun night. We have had many great nights at the club and have spent a lot of money as we did last night . We are club supporters but on this occasion have never been treated like this in any other club. Definitely not the treatment...

10 of us dined at this venue on 28th January 2023 to celebrate our granddaughter Chantelle's baby shower. This was our first visit here and looking forward to it however the experience was very bad, disappointing and we felt angry. The food was good fish, calamari, chicken schnitzel but for a club it was pricy. One of granddaughters ordered T Bone steak raw and it came well done and she had to take it back TO HAVE ANOTHER COOKED - which meant waiting. Not satisfactory There is a dish of steak which you "cook yourself" at your table which made the restaurant smokey and for $45.00 I heard people complaining. Then a family of 10/12 came in and they were very noisy and their children were very disruptive. Nearly all of them had the cook your own food and the smoke came right over to our table and was very thick. My daughter is a bad asthmatic, our pregnant granddaughter nearly vomited from the smell of the cooking food. We had to get up and leave and go outside. **There is no information about the "cook at the table dish" warning people and if you are going to have this dish on the menu the issues need to be addressed, it's not suitable. I did not expect to go to a restaurant and come out smelling like I had been at a BBQ. This was our first time at your venue and a bad experience. I did complain to an employee but what could he do. We are NOT happy customers, and based on the smokey episode would not recommend...
