Had breakfast here last weekend and ordered the big breakfast and the vege breakfast. They didn’t seem as busy as usual so we decided to give them a go. Our coffees came relatively quickly but we had to wait more than 20 minutes for our breakfast. The main reason I ordered the vege breakfast was for the poached eggs. When they came out, there were 2 very sad looking fried eggs on mine. When I asked the waitress, she said that their “egg poaching pot” had broken. When I asked what that meant, she couldn’t quite explain it, but then offered to “fix it”. I wasn’t sure how they would fix it if the ‘egg poaching pot’ was broken, and after waiting so long just wanted to have something to eat and get on with my day. If they had made a mistake with my order (or someone else’ order and just decided to throw the egg on mine), then they should just say so. I called BS on the broken “egg poaching pot”. Suspect they didn’t have staff who knew how to make poached eggs. The meal itself was very underwhelming, I got one slice of cooked tomato, the only saving grace was the well cut avocado - but certainly nothing to come back for. Disappointed in the excuse and the food. Plenty of other places to eat. Won’t be back.

Owner abandoned or a new owner who doesn't care I used to love coming here ,during the week or especially weekends for brekkie or lunch after shopping It feels like a place without a manager or owner, run by 5 or 6 teenagers.Average at best and most annoying the non stop hard core rock music barring out into the parking space. Too bad Another place who stops caring.

As a converted melbournite, this cafe doesn't do too badly in terms of coffee. It can be inconsistent depending on who the barista is but it's got a very nice vibe and the food is quite nice. Not ridiculously expensive either. Haven't been back on the coast too often so I'm not sure if there are more quality cafes around tlbut this does alright.

Sigh. I love their coffee. It is consistently good in my opinion. The trouble is, the service is soo bad at times. I keep telling myself not to go there, but the coffee calls. I can't tell you the number of instances that have occured where I swear to myself I'm never going back because of the terrible service, but still I go because the coffee soothes my contempt for their service. There is just no urgency or desire to do better. Staff members are polite and respectful, but they are sooo slow and seem to lack enthusiasm to move with any energy or purpose. The staff don't even acknowledge the waiting times. Most busy cafe's are apologetic and make eye contact to let you know that they know you are waiting. Never once have I received a coffee earlier than 10 minutes after ordering. I could be the only one in the cafe, but it still takes on average 10 minutes for anything to happen. My most recent visit a week ago saw them forget my order entirely. It's kind of a joke I have with myself now. I actually timed a recent visit to see how long it would take - yep, over 10 minutes and only one other in the cafe. Sigh. It would be so much easier if I hated the coffee:( EDIT - I went back again and sadly, I made a mistake. After 10 minutes waiting for my coffee, I asked for a refund. They were so busy anyway with only three staff behind counter and at least 10 tickets ahead of mine. I calculated it would be at least another 20 mins wait. I lost it when one of the girls starting talking about the new dog she was picking up on the weekend. Once again, the staff have no concept of speed or service or even concern about how many people were waiting. Why Cheeky Charlie’s, why? Can you not get decent staff? Do you not pay them enough? Such a shame, as I...

Food was decent, but service needs major improvement. Arrived for our booking on time (party of 6). Ordered 6 meals and 6 drinks. 5 drinks arrived 10 minutes later. After an additional 10 minutes of waiting I followed up the 6th drink. I was advised they would make it now. 10 minutes later, I enquired again as it had not arrived. I was advised it was being made "right now." 5 minutes later it still hadn't arrived. When I asked, they pointed to the blender and said "it's being made right now." Another 5 minutes later I walked in and asked again. They said "I thought you were at a different table" even though I'd identified our table number. They pointed at a drink on the counter and said "that's it." I asked for it to be taken off our bill and cancel the item as our entire table had finished our brunch. They refused. No apologies at any point. When a drink is finally made 45 minutes after the rest of the table has got theirs, an apology at minimum should be the standard, let alone...
