Went for lunch today and was very disappointed with meal. Table dirty , sticky seat ( outside ). Ordered fish and chips, pretty basic and used to be my go to there but no more. Salad was drowned in oil, chips looked enemic, like how hard is that to serve crisp, cooked chips, flathead was average. I dont often post on meals ect but it did spoil a really nice day at the Bay. Waitress, was nice. OK went to this place again 16/8 as partner lives close. Ordered same meal, Fish, chips and salad hoping some improvement over last visit but found no reason to go back again. Nothing was right with this simple dish, chips were yellow so looked ok but no, were not hot and limp, cant believe this is so bloody hard to get even half right. Fish looked nice and crispy, but again excessively oily.Sort of half right, but not acceptable. Salad very basic and again oily, not tasty oil just oil ??. I my self am an average cook but do know the diff between great, good ,average and piss poor food and presentation so nothing today would entice me back there ever again..I am not one to complain for the sake of it but I hope management takes a good look at what comes from your kitchen. Staff as always were good. So...

The pancakes were the worst pancakes I have ever had, ever.
They were hard and rubbery and at a cost of $20 I felt completely robbed.
I addressed this with the lady at the counter asking “are your pancakes cooked fresh?”
Her answer was no.
What on earth are you thinking??
Pancakes are the cheapest and easiest thing to prepare fresh.
Pre-made coles or Woolies pancakes would have been 1000 times better than these. They tasted as though there was no egg used and they were frozen and then microwaved. They were dense and disgusting.
It was Saturday morning at 8am with the cafe not even 1/10 full. There should be no reason, ever to serve pre-made pancakes at a cost of $20.
I suggest the chef taste these for themselves because there is no way if they had tried them they would be proud...
Read moreI drove 10 residents from a retirement village here for lunch. There are only two steps at the entrance to negotiate and the ladies all managed easily. The table I booked was ready and waiting for us. The lovely young girl kindly came to us to take our orders and we all paid on the spot which really helped save everyone getting up and down especially the lady with the walker. We were very grateful to the young waitress, she was very obliging friendly and helpful. The food came out astonishingly quickly and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals including me.
It was quite cold today so we were inside. On a sunny day it would be lovely to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful water view.
Thank you Hardy's Bistro the lovely young waitress and the cooks the residents of Living Choice Deepwater Court retirement village thoroughly enjoyed their...
