My partner and I have been coming to this restaurant for a few months now and are usually satisfied with the service...to an extent. While the food has often outshined some of the less favourable aspects of this cafe, tonight we were pretty shocked by the last straw. But before going into that, it'd be worth mentioning some of the other issues first.
To start, we usually like to have our meals with a cup of water to go with it but always have to look at every single cup next to the tap to find just two relatively clean cups. They're usually marked with left over chocolate crusts from previous meals which is really off-putting.
Then, whenever we seem to dine-in, the restaurant seems to be poorly rostered with staff. Often there are not enough people to handle the day-to-day traffic, let alone a busy Saturday night. When we rocked up to the restaurant on this final day, there were close to 50 people in the store. All being served by a maximum of 4 people in store.
Next, we're beginning to think that the priority of this business is to save money than to look out for the customer. I understand that this is favourable to boost any business but when we repeatedly have to take our meals back to have a relatively decent serve of chocolate, we're often met with a bit of attitude from the management.
Finally, and this is what was the final straw, we came in on a Saturday night just wanting two chocolate licks (which we had purchased strawberries for already) to be told by staff that due to the busy nature of the restaurant that night, all orders would be delayed for 30-40 minutes. Now, if we were dining in, we'd totally understand, and even for a take-away we'd be willing to wait a bit longer too. But for two chocolate licks it just seemed to be in poor management. It doesn't make any sense that drizzling some chocolate that is already in the buckets into two small containers takes more than half an hour to do - especially since take-away orders naturally take priority over dine in regarding time taken. Customers that are dining in do so for the reason of taking their time, talking etc. I do not see why the licks couldn't of been prepared in as little as one minute while the other staff were attending to the other dine in orders. If multitasking is such a simple request, yet is so difficult, it puts in question the management and priorities of this store. Any store can be good in quiet circumstances, but what makes them more credible is how they handle the heat when it gets busy.
In essence: Low Cleanliness, Poor Prioritisation of Time, Low staff numbers on most nights, and Poor leadership/Management when it comes to serving the customers needs.
Probably won't be back for quite some time. I hope it picks up in it's management...

I paid extra 12.99$ for kids waffle and left the store with trust. After 2 weeks I was checking my online banking and realised that I haven't received that amount 😳 so I went to the store as it's 30min drive from my home and staff said again they will give details to the store manager 😑 and they will give me a call on Monday as store manager was not there because of Sunday again I trust and left the store . After wait for a week I went on Friday 4th of April to see store manager if I can get my refund of 15.99$ back store manager said that staff haven't done refund email as it's a new system so they don't know but they had email today 4th of april and I will get my money within 3 to 5 working days. Over the last few months over a few occasions, my mum has brought home takeaway desserts for this store. they definitely don’t taste as good and the quality is not there anymore for the brownie, soufflé and tirimisu (which is so sad because they used to be so good!) 😢When we asked them about the recipe changes, they said something about supplier issues and those desserts are now being made elsewhere (hence the recipe changes). The last time I went myself, I ordered 2 takeaway waffles and was surprised to be charged $26! I didn’t realise until I was scanning my card to pay. The person at the counter doesn’t verbally tell you the price when you order. I also realized as I was walking out that I didn’t get given a receipt. When I asked the guy at the desk about the price, he said something about prices going up and a surcharge (on a Wednesday?) luckily the recipe for the waffles hasn’t changed, that’s the only thing I’ll bother ordering now, as a special treat every now and again. $26 for two cold takeaway waffles ($13 each) is a bit much.
