This was down right the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant/cafe. We decided to have lunch here today with my partner, 2.5year old and partners Aunty who is visiting from QLD. After waiting around 45 minutes with a restless toddler, we finally got our meals (they weren’t even that busy). We ordered pretty basic things. Pasta, and two lots of eggs on toast. One with mashed avocado and one with hash browns. My hash browns came out cold and extremely salty. I went to start eating the egg only to realize it was way undercooked as the white was still very runny. I sent the meal back and they asked if I would like a new meal or the eggs cooked longer. Not knowing how long my meal had already been sitting there as nothing appeared to be hot, I requested the meal cooked again. 2 minutes later they came back out with my meal which quiet clearly was the same one. The eggs had been flipped back into the pan and crucified. The yolks where clearly dry and overdone and the pepper which I had put on there was still there so there was no question at all about it being the same meal or not. The staff member told me it had been re done fresh. I told her there’s no way that is a new meal. It’s clearly the same one. I sent it back and told them not to worry about it. I was so disgusted I decided to voice my opinion to the manager who just kind of looked at me and responded with a oh sorry (care factor seemed to be 0). My partner went to pay for the meals and made sure we weren’t paying for mine. She then had the hide to ask if I had eaten any of it with the intention of charging us if we had. Even the younger blonde girl who served us initially looked over at her in shock. Luckily my partner didn’t tell her I had ate one of the hash browns as I was starving or we might have been charged for the meal. It was such a bad experience and I will never visit this place again. I left absolutely fuming and didn’t want to make my family wait again for me to order a meal elsewhere so settled for maccas in the food court. The manager there is in the wrong job and shouldn’t be managing. I hope she isn’t actually the owner as that would be extremely embarrassing to quiver over two eggs which probably cost the business all of 50 cents. Give the job to the younger blonde girl, she has way more people skills and seemed to be the only one that...
Read moreWe've been regular visitors to the Tuggerah restaurant over the months and years and decided to bring a friend this time on Sunday. Unfortunately, the service or food wasn't what we expected at all and we left severely disappointed.
First, the waiter looked flustered and it took a while before anyone came over and asked us for our order. This would be understandable if the restaurant was full and busy but it was half empty and wasn't busy at all. After giving our orders, the order is always repeated back to us but this time it wasn't which meant that mistakes were made later on.
Second, after taking our orders, we've always been given water to drink while we waited for our meals. This time, we weren't. We also weren't asked whether everything was okay as we waited.
Third, we waited quite a long time for our orders. Again, it would be understandable if the restaurant was busy but it wasn't busy at all. We've visited during times when the restaurant has been full and we've had to wait for a table but have had our orders given to us within around 10 to 15 mins. This time, it was around 45 mins or so.
When we had our orders delivered, my order had the wrong sauce (Hollandaise instead of mushroom) and we had to ask to get that changed.
After having eaten around a third of the Wagyu steak I ordered, I noticed that the steak was Medium-Rare when I had asked that it be done Medium.
Someone usually comes and asks how the meal is as we're eating. No-one came to ask this time.
Everything just tasted really greasy and oily and was nothing like the meals we've had before.
Also, I noticed that there was no staff around half of the time. From what I could see, some of them were out back giggling and laughing a lot of the time instead of being out on the floor and tending to their customers.
Overall, none of us were impressed and the friend we came with was definitely not impressed. It was quite embarrassing actually since we had insisted that we dine here because it's a great place to eat. Severely disappointed...
Read moreAs we arrived at the main door at 7pm, the staff asked how many persons etc and she seemed interested to accommodate us but she was soon interrupted by her manager (Tammy) who told her in front of us not to take any customers on waiting as we are fully booked. As a manager with good customer service skills, I will talk to the customer by myself and will apologize for the situation but unfortunately that was not the case. Also I will not dictate the staff about booking situation in front of customers.
As soon as we were thrown out of the premises, I called Rashays booking number and got one for 7:15pm (just 15 minutes later). Anyways now we were seated and coincidentally the same manager (Tammy) came to take our order. As we finished ordering I asked kids about pink & blue drink selection when the manager told us there are no pink & blue drinks for kids and this was again without sorry. She gave us options of apple, orange or pineapple juice. We said apple and then she remembered that they didn't have apple juice as well and this was again without any regrets. So we had to order pineapple juice with kids meal.
We were not even asked for tap water and I had to request for it. When it came it was without glasses and I had to request glasses separately. Lychee drink was not served the way it is shown in the menu but I guessed given the situation that it would be futile to address.
Food was served without any knives and forks and we had to request for it. My little child loves babychino because it is served with marshmallows. When it was served, there were no marshmallows and upon asking we were told that they didn't have any marshmallows and as you can guess it was again communicated when we asked. So in total no shortages were communicated to us in advance until we asked.
Last but not the least rest rooms were dirty which was not expected as we are regular customers of Rashays and have eaten in most of their...
