This place is awesome. Old-school fish and chips done exactly right. Everything is laid out battered and crumbed, but clearly a busy place so nothing is sitting out for long. Friendly staff who I would guess are the owners. An example: when you order chips they don’t ask you to guess a serving size, they ask “how many people?” and figure it out themselves. Great calamari, perfect potato scallops, all the old favourites (seafood sticks and cocktails and so on), even pineapple fritters. These are great - two rings of pineapple in crispy batter, and you should get it dusted with cinnamon sugar. Ideally served back at home with ice cream. We ate too much for $10/head.
Also: very well set up for COVID-19, distancing properly and with plastic curtains to shield the staff. And they will do you a grilled fish (not crumbed or battered)...

I opted for the chips and gravy, which proved to be an excellent choice. The combination was particularly delightful when enjoyed on some fresh bread. The flavors were well-balanced, making for a satisfying meal.
The service was great and the staff exhibited a friendly and accommodating demeanor, contributing positively to the overall experience.
In conclusion, Andy's Takeaway offers a pleasant experience with quality food and excellent service. I would certainly recommend it to others seeking fish and chips...

You see the locals coming in to get their lunch on, with the owner greeting them in a familiar fashion.
Had their burger and small chips with gravy. A very satisfying meal for $15.50. You don't get that sort of value proposition much anymore. I highly recommend stopping by for a munch if...
